Xining, China, October 7 (Sun Rui) In the autumn of October, the Yadan crab on the water in Dachaidan Wusut, Haixi Prefecture, Qinghai Province, located in the Qaidam Basin, ushered in a bumper harvest.
Located in the hinterland of Qaidam in Haixi Prefecture, Qinghai Province, Usut (water) Yadan is the only water Yadan landform in the world. Yadan is scattered throughout the lake, flocks of water birds and wild ducks, or soaring in the blue sky, or splashing in the shimmering water of the lake, or running and chasing above Yadan, it is also called "Hundred Birds and Thousand Island Lake" by tourists.

According to reports, in 2013, the Haixi State Government successfully farmed cold-water crabs through investment promotion and inspection, and also stocked fish species such as pond swamp male fish, crucian carp and white salmon with strong water purification ability.
"Before investing, we carefully examined the place and felt that the water temperature and the plankton in the water, fish and shrimp are more suitable for cold water crab farming. Crab farming requires extremely high water quality. Although the climatic conditions in the Yadan waters of Usut are more suitable for cold-water crab farming, the high salinity content and turbid water quality soon made crab farming difficult for the Koluk Fisheries Company. In order to change the water quality here, we sprinkled the water with aquatic seeds suitable for growth. Zheng Hui, chairman of Qinghai Kruk Fishery Co., Ltd., said that in order to prevent the crazy growth of aquatic weeds from causing secondary pollution to the water body, after the aquatic weeds grew up, they put fish species such as pond marsh male fish, crucian carp and white salmon with strong water purification ability in the water.

"Crucian carp and pond numa male fish use aquatic weeds and plankton as bait, which can play a particularly good role in purifying water quality, especially the pond swamp male fish, which is an annual raw fish, and after the seed is thrown, it can be used as a crab feed, especially suitable for the growth of crabs." Zheng Hui said that after more than 6 years of unremitting efforts, the water quality conditions of Yadan on the Usut Water in 2019 finally met the requirements of crab farming.

Zheng Yankun, manager of Qinghai Keluk Fishery Co., Ltd., said, "It is estimated that this year our crab production can reach 500 tons to 600 tons, and crucian carp can reach about 50 tons." Compared with 2019, when our initial trial was successful, the yield has increased several times. Due to the cold and pollution-free climate around Usut Water Yadan, the farmed crab meat is tender and firm, the crab yellow is full, rich in a variety of minerals needed by the human body, the taste is more delicious, and soon out of the province, the crab is mainly sold to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Beijing and other more than a dozen cities.
