(Part of "Five Bull Diagram")

It is the undisputed "C-bit" exhibit in many blockbuster exhibitions such as "The Exhibition of Calligraphy and Paintings of the Forbidden City", "Shiqu Baodi Special Exhibition", "The Road of Return - Exhibition of the Return of Lost Cultural Relics on the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of New China", and not only that, it is also an indispensable guest of honor in the exquisite art atlas, a popular star in cultural and creative brand products, and a "familiar face" in the well-known Internet celebrity calendar... In short, the "Five Bull Chart" is red "out of the circle".

Why is "Five Bulls" so cattle? Because this national treasure has "five cows".

One is from a cow. The Five Bulls Diagram is a masterpiece painted by Han Di in the middle and Tang dynasties of the 8th century AD. Han Di is not simple, born in a eunuch, father and son, good calligraphy and painting. He successively held important financial positions, and then left the Zhenjianghuai region, and was appointed as the prime minister because of his outstanding performance. He served as an official diligently and earnestly, and made great contributions to the suppression of the power of the Tang Empire and the re-establishment of socio-economic order by the central government of the Tang Empire after the Anshi Rebellion.

The second is the content cow. These five cows are lined up in different moods, or they look up and sing, or rub thorns comfortably, or playfully spit out their tongues and look back, or stand with their heads held high. The cow on the far left, with a unique shape and a stable temperament, will find that its eyes seem to have a vague sense of unevenness when you look closely. Some people say that this cow is exactly the projection of the painter's own mood of going to the official to disarm and return to the mountains and forests.

The third is the painting skills of cattle. Zhao Mengfu, a literary and artistic figure in the Yuan Dynasty, praised the figure as "full of vigor and vitality, and the famous pen of the world". The five cows with different postures and rich expressions are finely outlined by the skillful and smooth brushwork, the ink color is clearly layered, and the fur color and texture of the cowhide are truly and delicately displayed, and the shape is vivid and vivid, which can be called a divine skill but has no sense of showmanship, which well conveys the understanding and speculation of the role of the cow in traditional Chinese agricultural thought.

The fourth is the collector's cattle. Treasures will meet treasure hunters. Those who loved and collected the "Five Bull Diagrams" were also well-known figures: Emperor Huizong of the Northern Song Dynasty collected this treasure in the Inner House as a treasure; after the jingkang change treasure was destroyed, Nandu was obtained by Emperor Gaozong of Song, who put his "Ruisi Dongge" and "Shaoxing" seals on the painting to show his treasure; after that, the famous calligraphers and painters of the Yuan Dynasty, Zhao Mengfu, the Prince of Yuan, and the great collector of the Ming Dynasty, Xiang Yuanpi, and other famous cultural masters all collected this painting; in the Qing Dynasty, the Qianlong Emperor even collected it in the Forbidden City and zhongnanhai Chun coupling Zhai, and from time to time to watch and love it.

The fifth is to experience cattle. Qibao must go through adventures. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the state was in a state of turmoil, and the world was in turmoil. In that year of Gengzi, the Eight-Nation Alliance invaded China, the lives were destroyed, the people were hanging upside down, and the "Five Bull Map" did not know where to go...

It was not until the 1950s, when Hong Kong entrepreneur Wu Yusun wanted to sell treasure to raise funds due to financial difficulties, that "Five Bulls" was able to reappear in Hong Kong. The new Chinese government decisively sent a team to Hong Kong, where it was found to be genuine and then bought it back at great expense and returned it to the Forbidden City.

Although it was gratifying to be lost and recovered, at that time, this rare treasure was seriously damaged, not only was the painting covered with dust and dirt, but also "full of holes".

In January 1977, Sun Chengzhi, a restoration expert at the Palace Museum, was determined to restore the national treasure and repaired the dilapidated "Five Bull Map". He first found a kind of paper with a texture and color similar to the original painting from the inventory of the Forbidden City, and then used exquisite technology to fill in hundreds of small holes in the picture one by one and complete the color.

After 8 months, the arduous restoration was finally successfully completed, and the "Five Bulls" was as bright as ever. At this point, the legend of the national treasure "lost and recovered, lost and restored" has left a good story.

Today's five cows, or "appearing" in thousands of households to enjoy fireworks in the world, or "standing proudly" in the grand exhibition hall, all of which have repeatedly proved an indisputable truth: the motherland cattle, the cattle are more cattle.
