On the occasion of the Chongyang Festival, on the morning of October 12, the County New Era Civilization Practice Service Center, the County Women's Federation, the County Traditional Culture Promotion Association, the County Volunteer Association, and the Shunwangcheng Administrative Village of Penglou Town jointly held the "Ninety-Nine Chongyang Festival, Strong Respect for the Elderly" Chongyang Festival theme activity, and organized more than 150 elderly people in the jurisdiction to gather together to spend the Chongyang Festival. Zhang Chunlian, vice chairman of the CPPCC County Committee, Yu Pei, vice chairman of the County Women's Federation, Wang Heping, director of the County New Era Civilization Practice Center, Wang Nan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Penglou Town, Guo Wenli, president of the County Traditional Culture Promotion Association, Zhang Aihua, president of the County Towel Volunteer Association, and Liu Changhua, general secretary of the party branch of Shunwangcheng Village, attended the event.
More than 50 volunteers chose dishes, chopped stuffing, rolled skins, and wrapped dumplings, and everyone talked about homely gossip while exchanging skills, and the scene was warm and lively. Taking advantage of the gap between cooking dumplings, the volunteers talked cordially with the elderly, learned more about their life, living, health and other aspects, carefully asked whether there were any difficulties in life, and encouraged the elderly to actively participate in various community activities to enrich their later life.
Accompanied by President Guo Wenli's speech, the opera program brought by the University of the Elderly kicked off, and the elderly sat around the table, watching the program while chatting about their daily routines, and their joy and laughter continued.
At the scene of the event, Comrade Zhang Chunlian, vice chairman of the COUNTY CPPCC Committee, cut the first knife for the large cake written with the words "Ninety-Nine Chongyang Festival, Strong Respect for the Elderly", and volunteers served cakes to each elderly person and sent holiday red scarves and holiday blessings to the elderly present. While tasting the sweet cake, everyone reminisced about the old years, shared family customs, celebrated the festival, and talked about development, and the atmosphere was warm and peaceful. In the process of everyone talking about home, the hot dumplings came out of the pot, and everyone tasted the dumplings, and their faces were full of happy smiles.
