Nie Weiping, born on August 17, 1952, is a native of Shen County, Hebei Province. In 1982, it was set to nine paragraphs. From 1985 to 1988, he won eleven consecutive victories in the Sino-Japanese Go Tournament and ended the first three tournaments, and was awarded the title of "Chess Saint" by the Chinese Weiqi Association in 1988.
