Recently, the preliminary evaluation of the 2021 Bird Photographer of the Year was announced, and the final list of winners will be announced on September 1, and the annual champion of the competition will receive a cash prize and honorary certificate of 5,000 pounds, and will be appointed as the judge of the next edition. The 2022 Bird Photographer Competition will also be announced to open later in September.

China Photography Network learned from the organizers of the event that this year's competition is divided into adult competitions and youth competitions, with a total of 10 groups such as environmental birds, birds in flight, bird protection, creativity, black and white, etc. This year's competition has received more than 22,000 works from photographers from 73 countries and regions.

Will Nicholls, chairman of the competition jury, said that because the quality and photography level of the works from all over the world this year are very high, and the diversity of the bird species reflected is also worth seeing, it is really difficult for the judges to select the annual champion from the shortlisted works.

It should be pointed out in particular that the competition clearly stipulates that there shall be no damage to animals or damage to the environment in the creation of photography, nor is it allowed to use deliberately disturbing, using bait to attract the attention of animals or frightening animals to shoot, especially pointing out that the use of drones is not allowed to shoot, and if the above violations are found in the judging, the award will be disqualified.
