Red Star Belgrade, founded in 1945 by former FIBA President Stankovic and FIBA Hall of Famer Nikolitz and others, has won 16 national league championships and 8 national cups so far, and is the only team in Serbia to have won the European Basketball League championship.

Vlad Divac, 26th in the 1989 NBA Draft, single-handedly swapped Bryant's presence. One of the 50 outstanding contributors to the UEFA Champions League. On September 1, 2015, Divac became general manager of the Sacramento Kings. On April 6, 2019, Divac was inducted into the Nye Smith Basketball Hall of Fame.
Peja Stojakovic, a famous NBA shooter, is known for his three-pointer and is a member of the 96 Golden Generation. In his NBA career, he was named to the All-Star Team for three consecutive years from 2002 to 04, a three-point contest championship twice from 2002 to 03, a second team member of the NBA Team in 2004, and an NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011. In May 2018, he was promoted to deputy general manager of the Sacramento Kings.
Nemanja Bjelica, who finished with the 35th overall pick in the second round of the 2010 NBA Draft, won the EuroLeague MVP. He currently plays for the Sacramento Kings.
