Changsha, April 19 (People's Daily Online) Recently, in order to give full play to the role of judicial administration and effectively safeguard and protect the legitimate rights and interests of veterans, the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Justice and the Changsha Veterans Affairs Bureau jointly held a meeting to promote the public legal service work of veterans in Changsha. Zhan Pingping, member of the party leading group and deputy director of the Changsha Veterans Affairs Bureau, and Xun Feizheng, member of the party committee and deputy director of the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Justice, attended and spoke at the meeting.
The meeting conducted special research and deployment on the establishment of legal aid lawyer duty workstations in veteran service centers at all levels in the city, the establishment of a special team for legal services, and the provision of more high-quality and efficient public legal services for veterans within the city. The meeting discussed and deliberated the "Implementation Plan on Further Strengthening the Public Legal Service Work of Veterans (Draft for Solicitation of Comments)" and the "Construction Plan for public legal service stations for veterans in Changsha (Draft for Solicitation of Comments)", and determined the key work of public legal services for veterans in the next stage of the city.
Zhan Pingping pointed out that it is of great significance to strengthen the docking and cooperation between functional government departments and form a synergy in the work related to public legal services for veterans. It is necessary to speed up the organic integration of public legal services and the work of guaranteeing veterans, coordinate resources, seize opportunities, and walk in the forefront; it is necessary to gradually push forward, highlight the combination of points and surfaces, and link up and down to ensure the steady and orderly advancement of public legal service work for retired servicemen; it is necessary to build benchmarks, integrate resources, concentrate forces, introduce a number of policies that are convenient for the people and benefit the people, and create a number of work models; it is necessary to improve mechanisms, be good at summing up and refining experience and practices, and formulate relevant work systems in a timely manner, so as to ensure that all work has rules to follow and evidence to follow.
Xun Feizheng pointed out that retired servicemen have made important contributions to national defense and army building, and it is their duty and mission to safeguard and protect the legitimate rights and interests of the retired servicemen group. It is necessary to expand service outlets, take the construction of public legal services and service sites for veterans as an opportunity, increase investment, accelerate construction, and achieve high-standard and high-quality full coverage of service sites; it is necessary to expand service targets, increase publicity and active guidance, and include more retired servicemen in service targets; we must expand the scope of services, make full use of public legal service forces such as legal aid, arbitration, notarization, and lawyers, further enrich service items, and innovate service content.
