In recent years, Sanya has promoted the green development of modern fisheries based on its advantages, the development of deep-sea cage culture and the situation of far-sea fishing are gratifying, fishermen have tasted the joy of harvest through "farming the sea", and the aquatic products of breeding and fishing have been sold throughout the country. According to statistics, in 2020, the total output of aquatic products in the city will be about 35,000 tons or more, and the output value will exceed 2 billion yuan.

Song Hong said that Sanya plans to carry out overall sea area use demonstration and environmental impact assessment of Sanya Bay, Yazhou Bay and other breeding areas, solve the current problems in the development of marine fisheries and marine aquaculture, marine ranching, recreational fisheries and other fishery industries, accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the marine aquaculture industry, and promote the green development of the marine fishery industry.
Sanya Agricultural Investment Marine Industry Co., Ltd. is mainly engaged in deep-water cage aquaculture, recreational fishery, fry breeding, fishing, processing, etc., and is the only state-owned enterprise marine economic industry company in Sanya. Since the development of the marine economy industry in 2015, the company has earned a total of 130 million yuan. "Developing into the deep sea is an inevitable trend and a good way." Liu Jinping told reporters that at present, the company plans to apply for 10,000 mu of aquaculture sea and invest 5 billion yuan to increase deep-water cage culture.
In addition to deep-sea cage culture, Sanya also encourages fishermen to set up professional fishing cooperatives and organize fishing boats to go to sea in formation in accordance with the requirements of relevant documents of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. In 2020, Sanya's deep and far-sea fishing production output was nearly 20,000 tons, accounting for about 35% of Sanya's marine fishing production, which not only achieved good economic and social benefits, but also protected offshore fishery resources.
"Our company has 22 large fishing vessels, all of which are fishing operations in Nansha." Lin Xinrui, deputy general manager of Hainan Fugang Ocean Fisheries Co., Ltd., said that the company's output of one voyage per ship is between 200 tons and 300 tons, and the output value has reached more than 2 million yuan.
