The black chin dove (scientific name: Ptilinopus leclancheri, English name: Black-chinned Fruit Dove) is a bird of the genus Fruit Dove. The black chin dove is 28–29 cm long. The head, neck and upper chest of the male are off-white. The back of the head to the back of the neck is green and the chin is black. The back is green with a light yellow sheen. The tail feathers are gray-olive-green at the ends. The lower thorax has a purple-brown transverse band, the abdomen is pale gray-green, and the undertail coverts are feathered maroon. The head , neck and thorax of the female are slightly greenish , and the forehead to the front of the head is grey-green.
