Chen Zhen, according to legend, is Huo Yuanjia's favorite disciple and a national hero on the screen. After Huo Yuanjia was killed by the Japanese, Chen Zhen, who returned from Japan, in order to avenge his master, fought alone in the Hongkou Dojo in Shanghai.
It is understood that when Bruce Lee first filmed "Jingwumen", he invited Ni Kuang to write a script. Chen Zhen, the "Jingwu Hero", was fictionalized by Ni Kuang in 1972. However, under Ni Kuang's setting for Chen Zhen's personal background: the disciple of the martial artist Huo Yuanjia during the Republic of China period, we can probably find Chen Zhen's historical prototype: Liu Zhensheng.
Liu Zhensheng was Huo Yuanjia's only disciple, and the jianghu title was "Lightning Hand Flying Swallow Liu". Born in 1883, he was originally from Jingzhou, Hebei Province, lost his father at an early age, and was dependent on his mother. In 1896, Liu Zhensheng was working as a dart guard in a dart bureau, and because he admired Huo Yuanjia, he went to Tianjin hoping to worship Huo Yuanjia.
At first, Huo Yuanjia did not agree, but after a period of investigation, Huo Yuanjia believed that Liu Zhensheng was a man of integrity, and eventually accepted him as a disciple with excellent martial arts. Liu Zhensheng served as Du Huilin's bodyguard during his exile in the northeast, and then opened the "Sanguangmen Martial Arts Hall" in the north gate of Shenyang, and the warlord Zhang Zuolin of the northeast at that time learned that Liu Zhensheng was a person from Du Huilin's mouth, so he hired him as a martial arts teacher for his son Zhang Xueliang's brothers, especially with Zhang Xueliang.
In 1928, Zhang Zuolin's Emperor Gutun was killed by a bombing, and Liu Zhensheng continued to serve as Zhang Xueliang's martial arts teacher. Until the outbreak of the September 18 Incident in 1931, Zhang Xueliang implemented a policy of non-resistance and retreated from the Guandong, Liu Zhensheng was dissatisfied with his compromise attitude, and the two also quarreled many times. Liu Zhensheng saw that Zhang Xueliang was about to withdraw the Northeast Army to the northeast, and finally did not quit and defected to Leting's elderly father.
Liu Zhensheng settled in He Xinzhuang in Leting, and a disciple of Tianjin Jingwuguan once came to Leting, hoping that Liu Zhensheng would return to take charge of the martial arts hall, first refusing to see him, and then politely saying goodbye. Liu Zhensheng has been low-key since then, and married a girl in the village, but unfortunately his wife died of illness, and he was persuaded by relatives to combine with his sister-in-law, and later gave birth to a daughter named Cai xia.
Liu Zhensheng inherited the Huo family's boxing method, absorbed the strengths of the people, and created the original "Yongle Sect Three Light Gate". He admired martial virtue, was modest and cautious, and never showed off his martial arts. After living in seclusion, he was tight-lipped about his own life and martial arts history. The disciples under The Pavilion were Yu Jilou, Yu Chengjie, Yu Chengming, He Qingrui and dozens of other disciples. He was forced to fight against The Iron Crotch Song San and Shandong Tan Qinghua, whose superb martial arts and noble martial arts have always been rumored to be good stories.
Liu Zhensheng has experienced risks in his life, and his fame and fortune are weak, and in the rare years of ancient times, his family has treasured a sword, a string of Buddha beads, and an invitation letter invited by Zhang Zuolin to be Zhang Xueliang's martial arts teacher. In 1960, Liu Zhensheng died of poverty and illness at the age of 77.
