Zhitong Financial APP News, Chenguang Biological (300138.SZ) announced that the company plans to invest 26.0824 million US dollars in Zambia to invest in the "Zambia Natural Pigment Project", mainly engaged in marigold, pepper, stevia, milk thistle and other crops planting, and gradually processing, sales and so on. The company will set up a new subsidiary to be responsible for the preparation and operation of the project.

It is reported that the construction site of the project is located in the Chibonbo area of the central province of Zambia, Africa, and the total area of the project area is planned to be 4000 hectares, of which 1270 hectares have been planted with sprinkler irrigation machines, 341 hectares can be planted outside the plantation in the rainy season, and 2269 hectares of land can be developed in the follow-up. In line with the principle of "step-by-step, sustainable development", the operating mode of "phased planting and rolling operation" is adopted, and the comprehensive resources in the area are utilized under the premise of ensuring the stability of ecological functions. After the purchase of the farm, 1611 hectares of arable land will be used for marigold cultivation in the first stage, and it is expected to produce 64800 to 86400 tons of marigold flowers per year, which can be processed into 749.4 tons of lutein extract. Supporting the construction of a daily output of 60 tons of chrysanthemum granules production line and a daily output of 200 tons of granules extraction production line, for the deep processing of self-produced marigold flowers, lutein extract exported to China, in the Chenguang Biotechnology Group headquarters production base and then for deep processing or direct external sales.

The announcement shows that after the project reaches production, it will further expand the source of raw materials for the company's production and improve the competitiveness of enterprises. The construction of the marigold flower planting base has expanded the planting varieties for Zambia, which is conducive to improving the competitiveness of the local planting industry and promoting local employment.
