In August 1950, the company was taken over by the Kunming Military Control Commission and renamed the Yunnan China Tea Trading Company; in September, the Yunnan branch of the China Tea Company was established. Wu Juenong is considered a contemporary tea expert and the first manager of the China Tea Corporation.
1951 - China Tea Group became a registered trademark on September 14 of that year.
1952 - The famous logo of The China Tea Group was born, a green Chinese character "tea" surrounded by eight red Chinese characters "Zhong", which is why it is called "Eight Zhong". This symbol is now known as the most classic symbol in the history of Pu'er tea.
1972 - After several mergers, the Yunnan Tea Branch (CNNP) of China Indigenous Livestock Import and Export Corporation was established.
In 1973, Kunming Tea Factory, a subsidiary of China Tea, successfully developed the technology of artificial piling fermentation and ripening Pu'er, which became a revolutionary and innovative move in the Pu'er tea industry.
1976 – In order to meet the demand for exports, Pu'er labels are standardized, and tea cakes are represented by four digits. The first two digits are the year of origin of the tea recipe, the third digit is the processing grade of the tea (such as Mao tea), the last digit is the number of the tea factory, 1 is the Kunming Tea Factory, 2 is the Menghai Tea Factory, and 3 is the Xiaguan Tea Factory.
1988 - After the second phase of China's foreign trade system reform, the company's name was changed to Yunnan Tea Import and Export Company, a by-product of China's indigenous livestock products.
1996 ~ 2003 - it was a chaotic period of China Tea Group. The Kunming Tea Factory ceased production in 1996, and since then, the company has licensed its Own Chinese Tea Brand to the Tea Factory. Among these factories are large and well-known factories such as Menghai, Shimonoseki, and Guoyan, as well as smaller factories. At the same time, a large number of counterfeit and shoddy Chinese tea products have emerged on the market.
After 2003, the provincial company stopped using the China Tea Brand, and the tea produced was the Jixing Brand, and marked the Yunnan Tea Import and Export Company, which was native to China;
In 2006, the provincial company regained the trademark of China Tea Brand - China Tea Industry Co., Ltd. and COFCO Group. Kunming Tea Factory opened in line with the trend and rebuilt Kunming Tea Factory on the current new site.
