Geese of residents of the Chala Reservoir in the lower reaches of the Tarim River lay "flat eggs"

Tianshan Network News (correspondent Hou Weidong photo report) "My goose laid a strangely shaped egg, come and see!" Early in the morning of February 24, I received a call from Mr. Li, a resident of the Charla Reservoir camp in the lower reaches of the Tarim River in Xinjiang. Therefore, the author came to Mr. Li's house to understand the specific situation.

As soon as he arrived at Mr. Li's house, he couldn't wait to take out the goose egg and show it to the author. This is a long strip of eggs with a very smooth surface, giving people the first feeling that it is not like a goose egg, but like a piece of white jade, the surface is glowing with brilliant white light, very beautiful. Mr. Li also took out an ordinary goose egg and compared it with this strange goose egg, the ordinary goose egg is oval in shape, and the skin is relatively rough, which is completely different from this goose egg.

At this time, Mr. Li suddenly thought, since the two goose eggs are not the same shape, the egg yolk inside will not be the same, so he found a bowl, opened the two goose eggs separately, the author was surprised to find that this strange goose egg yolk is larger than the average goose egg, and the color is more golden.

Mr. Li told the author that his family will feed some poultry every year, and he can feed it with confidence, and this year his family feeds more than thirty chickens, ducks and geese. This morning as usual, he went to see if the chickens, ducks and geese he fed had laid eggs, and when he finished picking up the eggs, he came to the goose pen to see if there were any goose eggs, and as soon as he entered the goose pen, he saw a goose lying in the nest, and when he took a closer look, he found that this goose had been feeding for more than a year, and had not yet started laying eggs, so how did he start laying eggs today? Mr. Lee was puzzled.

He described the scene to the author in detail, and Mr. Li found that the goose seemed to be trying desperately, and it looked a little funny, so he patiently observed it for a while. After some effort, the goose finally relaxed, slowly stood up, shouted at Mr. Li "quacked", and walked out of the goose nest with a shake. So there was this peculiar goose egg.

It is understood that in recent years, the Chara Reservoir has actively encouraged the residents of the camp to develop a courtyard economy, and at present, every household has more or less raised a variety of poultry, and also plants various fruit trees and vegetables in the small field in front of the door. Mr. Xu, a resident of the camp, said: "The dates and pears I grow are natural green foods, without any pesticides, using farm manure, and I am not worried about sales at all." ”

It is also understood that the Chala Reservoir is under the jurisdiction of the TarimKen District Water Pipe Office of the Second Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, which belongs to the regiment-level unit, which was established in 1994 and formerly known as the Chala Water Pipe Office. Due to the tense water conditions of the Tarim River at that time, in order to facilitate the coordination of water volume, in 1994 it was merged with the Daxi Haizi Reservoir downstream to form the Tarim Reclamation District Water Pipe Office. At present, it has jurisdiction over one reservoir and two trunk canals, and has more than 150 active staff.

It is reported that the Çalá Reservoir is located in the northeastern edge of the Tarim Basin in the southern foothills of the Tianshan Mountains in Xinjiang, in the upper section of the "Green Corridor" in the lower reaches of the Tarim River, and the Charla Reservoir was built in 1958 and has been rebuilt and expanded over the years, with a water storage area of 47 square kilometers. It undertakes the agricultural irrigation of more than 400,000 mu of arable land and the water diversion mission of nearly 100,000 people in the four regimental fields of the Second Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.
