A few days ago, the police in Jilin City, Jilin Province, cracked a case of illegal breeding and reselling of highly toxic organisms, and the "protagonists" in the case were 6 camouflage arrow poison frogs and Israeli golden scorpions.

On February 25, China's Jilin Network contacted the Jilin Wildlife Conservation Association, and six highly toxic creatures that had been confiscated were being placed at the protection station.

According to Wu Jianfeng, deputy secretary-general of the Jilin Wildlife Conservation Association, the case occurred before the Spring Festival in 2021, the police went out after receiving reports from the masses, when the experts of the Wildlife Conservation Association rushed to the scene and confirmed that 3 of the 6 creatures were camouflage arrow poison frogs, and the other 3 were Israeli golden scorpions, all of which were highly toxic species, and the amount of poison of one of the Israeli golden scorpions could kill an adult.

"These two species are highly toxic, of which the camouflage arrow poison frog is still an endangered species of the World Conservation Federation, and it is also a second-class protected animal in China, and it is illegal to raise, transport and resell it." Wu Jianfeng introduced.

And why did two strange and highly toxic species "appear" in Jilin?

According to the analysis of experts from the Wildlife Conservation Association, camouflage arrow poison frogs have also appeared before, but most of them are smuggled by criminals through other means, with the purpose of selling to some people who like to collect alternative species, and the reason why many people are willing to "take risks" is to see the "lure of interests" that this rare species can bring.

At present, these 6 creatures will continue to be fostered at the Jilin Wildlife Conservation Station.
