Near the end of the year, the reopening of the shanghai veteran theater Yunfeng, after the drama "Shang Martingale" started the first line, is about to usher in a big IP musical drama work. Produced by Beijing Changxin Film and Television Media Co., Ltd., the Chinese original musical "Soul Ferry Eternal Life" will open the second round of performances at the Yunfeng Theatre from December 24 to January 2, presenting a highly textured audiovisual spectacle to the audience.
The musical drama works are adapted from the originator of the popular suspense web drama "Soul Ferry", inspired by the ancient Chinese mythological book "Classic of Mountains and Seas". In the fictional magical space of the story, the protagonists Xia Dongqing, Zhao Wei, and Wang Xiaoya also completed the pursuit of the meaning of their own life value in the process of working together to save the world.
"The Eternal Life of soul ferry" brings together the giants of the domestic stage drama industry, with the well-known stage director MaDa as the general director and lyricist, and the gold medal music producer Zhang Xiaozhen as the music director. Since the first round of touring in November 2020, the crew has traveled to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Nanchang five cities, not only in Douban, Damai and other platforms to achieve high ratings. This winter, in the voice of the audience, the second round of performances of "The Eternal Life of the Soul Ferry" was restarted, "Zhao Wei" was still played by Yu Yi, a powerful film and television drama and musical theater actor, "Xia Dongqing" would be played by young musical theater actors Li Chenxi and Ding Hui, and "Wang Xiaoya" would be played by Cui Xiuli and Yu Jiaxin.
"I want it to be a texture of a gear", in the mind of the motor director, the gear is a symbol of reincarnation and time, and also a metaphor for the fate of the characters who have been interlocked for thousands of years. In the end, a new world was built on the stage with the mechanical gears of the "steampunk" texture and the mirror reflection of the real and the illusory. The two-box structure of the stage enriches the spatial level of the entire stage, intuitively and aesthetically presenting the characters' inner struggles and confusions, love, hate and sorrow, bringing a strong visual and even consciousness impact to the audience.
Echoing the pioneering mechanical aesthetics on stage, music director Zhang Xiaozhen used a variety of musical elements such as punk and national style to create 21 original songs with different styles. Even if all interpretations of style are set aside, the music of "Soul Ferry Eternal Life" can be called pure "good".
It is worth mentioning that the golden songs in the three dramas of "Finally Meet You", "A Moment of Time" and "Trajectory" have been launched at 10 o'clock on October 28 on QQ Music, Kugou Music and Kuwo Music, creating momentum for the year-end performance and leading the audience to immerse themselves in the love and warmth of "Soul Ferry Immortality" in advance.
