According to the Daily Mail on August 29, a 56-year-old man with amputated legs in the United Kingdom climbed Snow Mountain for 13 hours on August 28 to raise money for charity.

Paul Ellis, 56, wore thick gardening gloves and knee pads and carried a 21-pound (about 19-pound) backpack on his back and crawled for 13 hours to complete a 9-mile (14-kilometer) journey to the summit of Snow Mountain, 3,560 feet (about 1,085 meters) above sea level.

He did so to raise money for a charity to help six amputee children and their families take to Tenerife for a holiday, raising £18,000 (about 160,000 yuan) so far.

Paul said: "I have a few blisters on my legs and hands, and my wrists have been sore. With the support of everyone on the mountain, they say 'come on, you can do it,' which motivates you to keep going. ”

Paul suffered a spinal injury in an accident in 1992 and in 2008 chose to amputate both legs and fitted them with prosthetics.
