Ninghai West Dian Valley
The "green skirted vermilion butterfly" was named
This is the first discovery in Ningbo
It became the 219th butterfly species in Ningbo

(The female butterfly with green skirt is viewed head-on, and the sub-margin of the hindwing has a blue-green broadband, hence the name)
The green-skirted butterflies are a species of butterflies in the genus Pterophoridae in the family Butterflyidae. The female butterfly has 5 white spots in the middle chamber of the forewings, 1 small white spot near the tip of the wing, a blue-green band on the outer edge of the brown hindwing, and a thin wavy brown band in the blue-green broadband that divides it into two parts, and the blue-green broadband extends from the hindwing to the posterior edge of the forewing, hence the name. It is recorded that the host plant of its larvae is the wood lotus of the camellia family.
(The female butterfly with green skirt is the opposite, 5 white spots in the middle chamber of the forewing are large and prominent, there is 1 white spot at the tip of the wing, and the larval host plant is wood lotus)
The wings of the green-skirted butterfly are dark brown and brownish-yellow on the reverse, with several circles at the base of the front and back wings, the white spots on the opposite side of the forewings are more pronounced, and the dark wavy texture in the middle of the hindwings. The male is relatively small and has a faint pattern of spots on the wing surface.
At present, there are four species of butterflies in Ningbo, namely Tibetan butterfly, yellow-winged butterfly, spear butterfly and brass butterfly. Among them, the Tibetan butterfly is the most common and widely distributed, and the other three species are very rare species of butterfly. The butterfly is a large and exquisitely patterned butterfly species in the butterfly family, with thick wings and strong flight ability, which has high ornamental value.
First named
Except for the green-skirted green butterfly
There is also the hidden anchor moth
The hidden anchor moth (anchor moth family) has a frontal, resembling a butterfly, and is named because it has a boat anchor pattern inside its wings, and this species is called "hidden anchor moth" because the "anchor pattern" is not significant.
The hidden anchor moth, which looks like a butterfly, is named because the species of anchor moth family have a boat anchor pattern on the wing surface, and this species is called "hidden anchor moth" because the "anchor pattern" is not significant. The reverse pattern of its wings is close to that of the dead leaf butterfly, and there is a round eye spot in the middle chamber of the hindwing, and the hue difference between the reverse faces of different individuals is more significant.
The reverse of the cryptomeral moth (anchor moth family) is close to that of the dead leaf butterfly, with a round eye spot in the middle chamber of the hindwing
In appearance, it is no different from a butterfly, but its activity habits have the characteristics of ordinary moths, which are usually diurnal and nocturnal. Perhaps its fixed seasons and peculiar activity times make me always miss it, which will make people mistake it for a very rare species.
