According to the Propaganda Department of the Zhuhai Municipal Party Committee, the so-called "dragon absorbing water" is a tornado that occurs on the surface of the water, the water is sucked into the air by the air current, due to the high pressure around the air, the middle air pressure is low, so it can absorb water and rise, forming a water column, connecting with the clouds, it looks as if the legendary dragon is absorbing water, so it is often called dragon absorbing water. If a tornado occurs on land, it is a normal tornado.
Dragon water absorption is more common between May and October, and each time it does not take too long to form, but it will move on the surface of the sea and is more destructive.
The official microblog of the Guangdong Meteorological Service Center also said on the afternoon of the 12th that it had received feedback from many netizens that there was a waterspout phenomenon in Zhuhai that afternoon.
