On September 8, the Earthquake Damage Prevention Department of Jiangxi Provincial Earthquake Bureau, together with Ganzhou City, Ruijin City, Huichang County, Xunwu County, Anyuan County Emergency Management Bureau and Jiujiang and Ganzhou Earthquake Monitoring Center Station, a group of 16 people went to Jiujiang City to carry out earthquake disaster loss pre-assessment and research work, accompanied by Wang Jiyin, member of the Party Committee of Jiujiang Emergency Management Bureau, and relevant staff of the Municipal Emergency Management Bureau and Chaisang District and Ruichang City Emergency Management Bureau participated in the investigation.
At the symposium, Jiujiang City, Chaisang District and Ruichang Emergency Response Bureau respectively introduced the implementation of the project, and Li Bin, head of the project implementation team of the Provincial Earthquake Bureau, introduced the results of last year's pre-assessment pilot acceptance and the overall situation of this year's pre-assessment project implementation plan, and exchanged and discussed the pre-assessment project of earthquake disaster losses on the spot.
Lv Zhaowei, deputy director of the Earthquake Damage Prevention Department of the Provincial Earthquake Bureau, pointed out that the earthquake disaster loss pre-assessment project is an important measure to implement the thinking of the party group of the China Earthquake Administration on the development of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction business, last year, Jiangxi Province took the lead in carrying out pilot work in Chaisang District and Ruichang City, Jiujiang City, and achieved fruitful results and successful experience that can be used as a reference for promotion.
Wang Jiyin stressed that by carrying out the pre-assessment of earthquake disaster losses, governments at all levels can accurately grasp the risks of earthquake disasters and possible disaster losses in their jurisdictions, improve earthquake emergency preparedness capabilities in a targeted manner, and provide technical support for post-earthquake emergency response decisions. Jiujiang Emergency Management Bureau will fully cooperate with the Provincial Earthquake Bureau to complete the pre-assessment of earthquake disaster losses in the province.
The research team also observed the pre-assessment results query and display system and the earthquake pre-assessment and disaster rapid assessment system, and discussed how to improve the scientific and timeliness of the pre-assessment work and how to ensure that the data is updated and maintained in a timely manner.
