The golden autumn is picturesque, and the October days are high and cloudy. October is a beautiful month, but for Teacher Wu in Jiangxi, October 2021 is a bit difficult. From October 8 to October 30, Teacher Wu experienced seven things: being scolded, calling the police, taking notes, resigning, applying, reporting, and presenting evidence.
Why do parents insult Teacher Wu? Why is the case not investigated after it is reported? Why do you want to quit your class teacher? What is the attitude of the School Education and Sports Bureau? Repeatedly hit the wall next step? Let's start with Teacher Wu's experience.
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="54" ></h1>
According to Mr. Wu, the Xiaxi Middle School in Guangfeng District, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, where he is located, underwent a re-arrangement in the eighth grade, and one of his classmates was assigned to Mr. Wu's class. The parents of this classmate were dissatisfied with the results of the class assignment, so they went to the school leader to ask for a change of class, but the school leader refused. After that, the parent successively found the class teacher and Teacher Wu that he favored, and wanted to "dredge up", but did not get the results he wanted.
On the evening of October 4, the parent came to Teacher Wu's house (Teacher Wu happened to be away) and put down two Chinese cigarettes and a box of tea leaves before leaving. After Teacher Wu returned home, he immediately called the parent and asked him to come to the school the next morning to get his things back. The next morning, seeing that the parent did not come, Teacher Wu contacted him again and returned the things to the parent at the school gate.
Teacher Wu thought that the matter had just passed, but he did not expect that at 5 p.m. on October 8, he "waited" for the parent's insult in the parent group. Look at the words of this parent, "Respect you call the teacher, do not respect you is nothing", "usually a class time is only roughly coped with a few minutes, the rest of the time is basically let the students learn on their own", "you are not worthy of being a competent teacher, dirty teacher two words, lack of basic morality, simply misleading people's children.".
Half an hour later, the parent was still unsatisfied, and opened his mouth again, "Maybe in the near future, the next you or your son or even grandson will finally pay the retribution."
Under a few words, Teacher Wu, who has been teaching for 28 years, was completely blinded, he thought that the parents could not transfer classes, the gifts were unsuccessful, turned his head and insulted his behavior unacceptable, thinking that he had become the "punching bag" of the parents, and immediately chose to call the police. Three days later, on October 11, he went to the police station to take notes. Subsequently, the more he thought about it, the more he was depressed, so he proposed to the school to resign as a class teacher.
On October 12, the school replied in writing, first, it did not agree with Teacher Wu's resignation as class teacher, second, it denied the parents' responsibility for Teacher Wu's teaching, and third, it affirmed Teacher Wu's excellence, using the words "for many consecutive years in the performance evaluation of being designated as a teacher, many times rated as an excellent teacher, excellent class teacher, competent for class management and junior high school Language teaching work."
At this point, things seem to be developing in a good direction, unexpectedly, three days later, on October 15, Teacher Wu received the "Notice of Non-Investigation and Handling" from the local police station, which determined that "this matter does not fall within the jurisdiction of the public security organs", which is of course not the result expected by Teacher Wu.
On October 19, Teacher Wu wrote an application, briefly described the matter, and stated his original intention of "only wanting parents to make a personal, public, and written apology", and finally submitted an application to the District Education and Sports Bureau to "help defend their rights". On the same day that the application was delivered to the Education and Sports Bureau, the Bureau said that it could provide legal aid to help protect rights.
On October 26, the "stubborn" Teacher Wu reported the "inaction" of the Xiaxi Police Station in Guangfeng District to the Guangfeng District Public Security Bureau (Inspector) by telephone, and met with the aid lawyer on October 29 to provide relevant evidence. It seems that Teacher Wu is planning to take the legal route to defend his rights.
Speaking of this, there must be many people who will ask questions: First, the school is good, why should it be divided? Second, how should parents scold teachers? Third, what is the practical significance of apologizing for defending rights? Next, Teacher Miao will talk about these problems one by one.
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="116" > second, the reason for the shift</h1>
As soon as it comes to class assignment, the sensitivity comes up, and some "skeptics" must be on the line immediately, questioning: Is the school divided into fast and slow classes, is it that students want to enter fast classes and do not enter, so their emotions are out of control? According to the regulations, the basic education stage cannot be divided into fast and slow classes, and the school is also responsible for this, right?
Let's put it this way, Mr. Wu explained the reason for the class placement very clearly: in the seventh grade, this class of students was divided into seven classes, each class of 60 people. This year, the school's new teaching building was opened, the place was generous, and it was decided to "evenly" combine the seven classes into eight parallel classes (note that it is a parallel class), and after the class, the class teacher randomly came to draw lots to lead the class.
In a word, there is no fast and slow class, there is no unfair class, and the parent's idea of asking for a shift seems to be pursuing unfairness.
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="123" > third, abuse qualitative</h1>
In 2019, zhongshan city, Guangdong Province, there was a similar incident in which "parents abused teachers were dealt with". Because a parent was dissatisfied with the homework assigned by the English teacher, he insulted the teacher with foul language in the parent group, and was summoned by the public security organ afterwards and was administratively detained for 10 days in accordance with the law.
This incident seems to have a lot of similarities with what happened to Teacher Wu. But I would like to point out that the words of the parent who insulted Teacher Wu really cannot be described as "foul language", but the threats and curses implied in the second paragraph are somewhat chilling.
Swearing is a big or small thing, and occasionally it may not hurt to burst two foul words with people close to you in private occasions; but blatantly cursing others in the WeChat group will cause trouble for yourself. Previously, the "Xiaochai Statement" column of Beijing Television Station had reported an incident due to "abuse and infringement".
Wang and Zhao had a contradiction because of trivial matters, so Wang openly insulted Zhao in the form of text in two WeChat groups (one with 21 people and one with more than 200 people). Zhao directly sued, demanding that Wang publicly apologize and compensate for mental losses. The court's judgment was that Wang violated Zhao's right to reputation and must publicly apologize to Zhao in two WeChat groups. In 2020, Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province, had a similar precedent.
Article 42 of the Law on Punishment for Administration of Public Security stipulates that a person shall be detained for not more than five days or fined not more than five hundred yuan; if the circumstances are more serious, he shall be detained for not less than five days but not more than ten days and shall also be fined not more than 500 yuan, including openly insulting others or fabricating facts to slander others, fabricating facts to frame others, and so on.
In addition, article 246 of the Criminal Law stipulates that whoever, by violence or other means, openly insults another person or fabricates facts to slander another person, if the circumstances are serious, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years, criminal detention, public surveillance or deprivation of political rights.
In a word, insults are not trivial, and we must be cautious in handling things.

Some people say that being scolded by someone is not a big deal, and this teacher Wu is also a little too real. In my opinion, whether it is an administrative reconsideration or going to court, Teacher Wu's "stubbornness" deserves our support. First, calming people will encourage the arrogance of some people and increase the negative energy of society; second, teachers will fight for their rights, which has far-reaching educational significance for students.
Good education is inseparable from the cooperation of teachers and parents. Problems can be communicated in a timely manner in order to let children grow up healthily. The more self-righteous the parents who can't stop pointing and poking at the teacher, the easier it is to bring adverse effects to their children.
