In May of this year, Xie Tianxiao joined Sony Music and announced that it would launch a 20th anniversary self-selection. Since the release of the single "That's Not Me" in 2018, "Lao Xie" has been violating the music scene for two years. And what about the so-called "twentieth anniversary"? Xie Tianxiao began composing music as early as the beginning of 1990, composing the song "You Are Not Like" for the movie "Vietnamese Girl" at the end of 1994; recording the single "Telling Cause and Effect" in the "Rock Beijing III" compilation album at the end of 1995, becoming the first officially published work; in April 1997, guitarist Xie Tianxiao found bassist Li Ming (who later joined drummer Wu Rui) who had just been demobilized from the army to re-form the band, and officially released his first album "Cold-Blooded Animals" in 2000.
The concept of 20 years was carried out in Xie Tianxiao's Weibo dedication on the first day of 2020. The self-selected album is obviously also planned, and the steps are clear: on May 18, the new edition of "Caged Bird" was launched and announced to officially join Sony Music, and the new version of "Caged Bird" MV was officially launched on June 5. During the COVID-19 epidemic, Xie Tianxiao has been grounded at home with his family, and the realistic observation of "Caged Bird" also shows that rock and roll is the proper meaning of an attitude.
On July 2, Xie Tianxiao's 2020 version of "Footsteps in the Near" MV was officially launched, and the MV reviewed Xie Tianxiao's classic performance scene and photos, and for the first time revealed that the self-selected series was called "Coming Again". The ten songs included in the self-selected series "Coming Again" are all familiar names for music fans, whether it is the early and manic Grunge style or the Chinese and Western combination of guzheng rock, reggae, or the later works with strong experimental and fusion, which are included in this self-selected series, comprehensively presenting different stages and different styles of Xie Tianxiao. He also revealed that "this self-selected series is also more representative of a state of his current stage."
In the production of this self-selected series, Xie Tianxiao and producer Zhang Yu, in pursuit of a real sense of the scene, underwent complex and accurate debugging, changing the acceptance perspective of our listening to music in the past from "audience position" to "lead singer position".
