According to Fox News reported on the 21st, on Sunday, a student at Tufts University in the United States was suspected of dying of suffocation in a hot dog eating competition.

Madeleine Nikapen, 20, fainted while attending a charity fundraiser. Authorities said she was choking on a hot dog eating contest at the time.
According to local reports, the first responders took "life-saving measures as best as possible" against Nikapen, who was taken to Auburn Hill Hospital in Cambridge and then transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where she was declared ineffective and died.
A Tufts University statement noted that thousands of people, including students, faculty and staff, gathered Sunday night to hold a candlelight vigil in memory of Nikapen.
Chancellor Anthony P. Monaco wrote: "The fact that many community members have joined hands with each other to support Madeleine's friends and family is testimony to how many people were touched during her time at Tufts University."
Nikapen reportedly worked as a defender on Tufts University's lacrosse team, where she studied biopsych and plans to enter medicine after graduation.
"Nikapen is our true friend and teammate," her teammate wrote on Instagram, "and she really cherishes her relationships with teammates and coaches." Her influence extends far beyond our team – she is a real contact on campus and touches everyone she meets. ”

According to the New York Post, Nikapen's funeral will take place on Friday and Saturday on the Upper Saddle River in New Jersey.
Just a few years ago, a similar incident occurred in connecticut, USA. In March 2017, Sacred Heart University student Caitlin Nelson suffocated to death at a charity pancake eating contest. Nelson's parents reportedly filed an unnatural death lawsuit with the school because the incident allegedly occurred on campus and the school approved the event.
In Nielsen's case, the university argued that the harm she suffered was "in whole or in part" caused by her own "carelessness."
