January 2 this year marks the 90th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Wei Jianxing. Comrade Wei Jianxing is an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China, a tried and tested loyal communist fighter, a proletarian revolutionary, a politician, and an outstanding leader of the Party and the state. Throughout his life, he was loyal to the party, bowed to all his might, and established indelible merits for the cause of the party and the people. Comrade Wei Jianxing is worthy of being a model for party members and cadres, and the party and the people will always miss him.
First, be down-to-earth, immerse yourself in hard work, and strive to devote yourself to the construction of national industry
Comrade Wei Jianxing was born in 1931 in Xinchang, Zhejiang Province, to a poor family of teachers. He loved the motherland from an early age, was upright, and was diligent and studious. From 1937 to 1949, he studied at Xinchang Nanming Primary School, Xinchang Middle School, Tiantai Yuqing Middle School, Hangzhou Anding Middle School and Shanghai Guanghua University Affiliated Middle School. He was ideologically progressive, pursued the bright, actively participated in the party's secret peripheral organizations, threw himself into the patriotic student movement, and waged a resolute struggle against the reactionary forces. In March 1949, he joined the Communist Party of China.
In September 1949, Comrade Wei Jianxing entered the Mechanical Department of Dalian Institute of Technology, and after graduating in 1952, he was selected to study in the Fushun Russian Language Training Class of the Nonferrous Metals Administration of the Northeast Ministry of Industry, and in 1953 he was sent to the Uralkaminsk Aluminum Processing Factory in the Soviet Union to study enterprise management. While completing his studies and internships, he taught himself the main courses of the Department of Economic Engineering of the Svetloff Institute of Technology and achieved excellent results.
In 1955, after returning to China, Comrade Wei Jianxing was assigned to work in the Northeast Light Alloy Processing Factory and devoted himself to the industrialization of the country. From 1955 to 1966, he successively served as the deputy chief of the production planning section, the chief of the section, the director of the workshop, and the chief commander of the factory production. He has been rooted in the production line for a long time, immersed in hard work, creative work, has organized and compiled 460,000 words of factory management methods and other materials, and played an active role in summarizing and popularizing production management experience; he worked with everyone to carry out technical research and contributed to China's "two bombs and one satellite" cause and the successful development of the first aircraft. During the Cultural Revolution, Comrade Wei Jianxing was criticized for fighting and delegated labor, but he always adhered to the truth, loyalty to the party, and belief in the organization. After resuming his work in 1970, he successively served as deputy director of the Revolutionary Committee of the Factory, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, and deputy secretary of the Party Committee. He eliminated interference, tried every means to grasp production and enterprise rectification, and did a lot of fruitful work to rebuild the order of production and operation of enterprises.
Since June 1978, Comrade Wei Jianxing has successively served as the director of the Northeast Light Alloy Processing Factory and the secretary of the Party Committee. He wholeheartedly supported the line, principles and policies established by the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, emancipated his mind, boldly rectified, established and improved the quality management system, and promoted the modernization of enterprise management. He insisted on the combination of self-reliance and technology introduction, promoted enterprises to achieve dozens of major technological innovations such as electromagnetic casting, metal hydrogen measurement, electronic numerical control, etc., filled a number of technical gaps in the domestic light alloy industry, and made the production of the whole plant grow significantly for several consecutive years, and a number of indicators reached the highest level in history, and successively won the national silver medal and the title of "National Advanced Enterprise". Comrade Wei Jianxing won the support of the vast number of cadres and workers and was awarded the titles of Harbin Special Labor Model and Heilongjiang Province Special Labor Model. In 1980, he was selected to study at the Training Class for Middle-Aged and Young Cadres of the Central Party School.
Since April 1981, Comrade Wei Jianxing has successively served as deputy secretary of the Harbin Municipal Cpc Committee and mayor of Harbin. He resolutely implemented the central decision-making and deployment, and carried out work in a positive, steady, solid and meticulous manner in the spirit of reform, paying special attention to the development of state-owned enterprises. He pointed out that the way out for enterprises to survive and develop in market competition lies in "standing in the forefront of reform and being the promoter of reform." He devoted himself to the rectification of enterprises, summed up and popularized the advanced experience of Harbin Welding Rod Factory and other enterprises, and enabled the city's industrial enterprises to set off an upsurge of improving product quality and economic efficiency.
Second, care for the staff, hard exploration, and make outstanding contributions to promoting the development of China's labor movement
From 1983 to 1984, Comrade Wei Jianxing served as vice chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, secretary of the Secretariat, and deputy secretary of the party leading group. He stressed that it is necessary to safeguard the economic interests of employees, but also to safeguard and protect the political rights and spiritual and cultural needs of employees, and to establish and improve the system of equal consultation, collective contracts and workers' congresses. Thanks to the active efforts of Comrade Wei Jianxing, the important role of trade union organizations as a bridge between the party and the masses of workers and staff members, an important social pillar of socialist state power, and a defender of the interests of workers and staff members has been effectively strengthened.
Comrade Wei Jianxing also stressed the need to strive to promote the legalization of trade union work. He believes that governing the trade union according to law is the only way for the trade union work to flourish, and it is necessary to safeguard the rights and interests of the staff and trade unions and regulate the trade unions' own behavior according to law. He attaches great importance to the construction of the labor legal system and the participation of trade union legislation, and vigorously promotes the formulation, revision and implementation of China's labor law, trade union law and other laws and regulations. Third, be far-sighted, scrupulously fulfill their duties, and make outstanding contributions to the building of a sound party style and a clean administration and the anti-corruption struggle
Since 1987, Comrade Wei Jianxing has served as the minister of supervision and the secretary of the party leading group. From 1992 to 2002, Comrade Wei Jianxing served as secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Cpc Central Committee. He resolutely implemented the principle of "grasping things with both hands and being firm with both hands, and conscientiously handled well the relationship between anti-corruption and reform, development, and stability from the high plane of having a bearing on the life and death of the party and the success or failure of reform and opening up. From 1984 to 1987, Comrade Wei Jianxing successively served as deputy director and minister of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee. In addition, from April 1995 to August 1997, Comrade Wei Jianxing also served as the secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.
