The brick family flew to Kunming last Friday night and came on a walk-and-go trip. What's the point? It must be "shopping and eating".
As we all know, the people of Yunnan and the people of Guangdong dare to eat and can eat, except for not eating Fujian people, it seems that there is more than enough. A large number of insects are used to eat, which is a characteristic of Yunnan (some areas). If you come, you will eat it, and the next day at noon, you can't wait to go to the famous "insect nest" restaurant.

When I went to the back kitchen to order food, I was shocked a little, and I had never seen a flat cabbage like a persimmon cake! Is life so stressful? But the flat cabbage is also a cabbage, and the brick family is not specially running over to eat vegetarian, it is impossible to order this dish to eat. The main play is insects.
The restaurant has about a dozen kinds of insect inventory, some yellow and white, some black and autumn, according to the rules of the store, I chose two platters a total of seven kinds. Although there are regrets about the loss of pearls, it can only be so, the gastrointestinal tract is limited, and it is not allowed to be wanton.
This first kind is not too strange, just locusts, commonplace. Looking at the appearance of these locusts' small and exquisite sharp-billed monkey cheeks, I am afraid that they are the likes of bamboo locusts and rice locusts. There is not much energy, and it is better to eat it than to eat East Asian flying locusts or cotton locusts.
The second is the giant of all the insects in the store, with a body length of about six or seven centimeters, and the store notes it as "shiba worm". According to my research, the wood worm should be the larvae of some kind of Coleoptera insect, and it is most likely some kind of Tianniu, which the Qingdao people call "Ha Worm". But this "ha worm" is so huge, I don't know what the adult worm will be fierce, and I think about it.
The third is slightly cute, with a rounded body and golden color. I specifically asked the chef, and the other party told him that it was a "coconut worm". Identified by Sina netizens, this is a larvae of the "red palm weevil" of the Coleoptera weeper family, also known as palm weevil (scientific name Rhynchophorus ferrugineus).
The fourth line is the more famous "bamboo worm", to put it mildly, looks a bit like maggots. Some locals call it "stick bugs", and I once thought it was the larvae of bamboo elephants, both of which are incorrect, and their true identity is the larvae of the Lepidoptera bamboo shoot borer moth. Stick insects belong to the order Orthoptera, and bamboo elephant larvae are fat lumps like red-brown weevil beetles.
The fifth is the pupa of walnut worms, Chinese is called walnut bead silkworm moth, a complex name. The pupae of the moth is more or less like this, and when I was a child, I shaved out a pupae that was said to be a bean worm from the ground, probably like a very short and thick pen.
The sixth, called "plantain", is the larvae of the macula butterfly. Comrades, it is gratifying to have finally eaten butterflies from moths! Although the species of the butterfly family is low-looking, almost fluttering moths, it is also a butterfly.
The seventh looks a bit weird, resembling a common household insect, the salamander, but it is actually a kind of dragonfly insect, the famous waterfly. As we all know, dragonflies are watery, and water is to lay eggs, and eggs are waterflies after hatching in water. It is said that dragonflies prey on mosquitoes and greatly benefit humans, so this should not be the point... Well, let's not take it for example.
It is not appropriate to have only bugs in a meal, and we are not from the pan silk cave. In addition, two other orders were ordered, fried porcini mushrooms and pumpkin heads, which were not mentioned. This "insect feast" is generally good, in line with the taste of the brick family, the fly in the ointment is that some bugs have been frozen for a long time, almost left with an empty shell. For example, the wood worm, although the size is magnificent, but "even if it is born with a good skin bag, the original grass in the abdomen is reckless", no, not even the grass mang. Among them, "banana worm" is the best, at least it has a certain connotation.
As a Shandong nephew, feeding on insects is nothing new, not to mention the fried golden cicada and silkworm pupae pupae, the brick family has even eaten the scarab beetle grasshopper bean worm silkworm moth himself; and the above insects have not surpassed the qualifications of the golden cicada. So, the symbolic meaning of this meal is greater than the substance, more curiosity than hunger, come and go, do not eat once to go back to greet people?
