Previously, when Huangdao Customs carried out on-site quarantine of a batch of imported spruce logs, it found a large number of insects and moth wood chips and intercepted more than 30 live insects. At present, the customs has carried out strict quarantine and pest control of these logs, and strengthened the quarantine inspection of logs entering the relevant epidemic areas.
Spruce wood beetle is included in China's "List of Quarantine Pests of Imported Plants", the main host is fir, spruce and pine plants, larvae mainly endanger the formation layer and phloem of the host tree, and form a pupae under the bark, adult insects mainly harm the treetops of the host trees, the top branches, etc., can lead to tree weakness, reduce wood quality, and when serious, the whole tree can die. This kind of pest can be spread over long distances with the transport of wood, and is currently mainly distributed in eastern Europe and West Asia, and has no distribution record in China, and once introduced, it will pose a serious threat to China's ecological environment and forestry production.
