On August 7, four gray kangaroos from Russia entered the country from Beijing Airport and were transferred by car to the designated quarantine site for grey kangaroos in Swan Lake Ecological Park, Qinyang City, Jiaozuo, Henan Province, to begin a 30-day quarantine.
The batch of gray kangaroos is the first import of Henan Province, and will be sold to a domestic wildlife park after passing the quarantine, mainly for ornamentation.
In order to ensure the smooth entry of this batch of gray kangaroos, Zhengzhou Customs intervened in advance to guide the site selection and construction of the quarantine site; organized professionals to formulate a detailed transportation and quarantine supervision plan; and supervised the designated isolation site to do the preliminary preparations such as feeding enclosure cleaning, epidemic prevention and disinfection and feed disinfection before the gray kangaroo entered the country.
It is understood that the gray kangaroo, also known as the gray kangaroo, the body hair is dark gray, the general body length is 110 ~ 130 cm, the tail length is 100 ~ 110 cm, the weight is 60 ~ 80 kg, there is no fixed breeding season, 1.5 ~ 2 years old sexual maturity, life expectancy 20 ~ 22 years.
Gray wallabies live in groups and are good at jumping, their tails are very useful, playing the role of the "fifth limb" when slowing down; when jumping, they are stretched backwards to balance their bodies; when they encounter the enemy, they are "weapons" for self-defense and attack.
