On 26 October, the Wuzhi-10 appeared in Taiwan's "southwest airspace," and Qiu Guozheng, head of Taiwan's defense department, hyped up the matter, claiming that the People's Liberation Army was conducting a surprise raid on the island and that the target was the Dongsha Islands, and that he had also called on the Taiwan troops on the island to "fight to the death to the end." At the same time, the Recent Interaction between the United States and Taiwan has been frequent, the United States has frequently played the Taiwan card, and after politicians hyped up Taiwan's "joining the United Nations," US Secretary of State Blinken personally went down to hype up this issue. In response to the recent series of collusion and speculation between the United States and Taiwan, the Chinese Foreign Ministry has issued a rare tough response: the United States continues to play the Taiwan card, which will pose a subversive risk to Sino-US relations. On October 29, three things in the Taiwan Strait deserve attention.
The first thing was that the Wuzhi-10 went around Taiwan for the first time, and Taiwan's defense department hyped up the PLA's drill to land on the island. Some time ago, seven military planes, including the Wuzhi-10, entered Taiwan's "southwest airspace," which was the first time that the PLA dispatched helicopter gunships around Taiwan. At the same time, a think tank called the "New American Security Center" pointed out that they concluded through wargame deduction that if the mainland attacked the Dongsha Islands, the Taiwan military would be unable to deal with it, and the US military did not have any reliable means to stop the PLA. What is very ridiculous is that Qiu Guozheng is linking the two matters together to prevaricate the "legislators" on the island for inquiry.
Qiu Guozheng said that the PLA's dispatch of the Wuzhi-10 was a drill to raid the island, and the primary target was Dongsha Island. The trick given to the Taiwan authorities by the US think tank is to adopt "poison frog tactics" and stop it through military and political means before the mainland action.
On the same day, a DPP "legislator" asked Qiu Guozheng about the "poison frog strategy, whether it is possible for the mainland to understand the cost of taking action against Dongsha and whether it is possible for the mainland to take Dongsha without spending a single shot and a bullet." As the head of Taiwan's defense department, Qiu Guozheng's response is very intriguing. He claimed he wouldn't let that happen. Immediately after that, he declared that "if I die, the country will live", if the soldiers seek to survive, Taiwan will be finished, so he called on the Taiwan army guarding the island to coexist and die with Dongsha Island. However, Qiu Guozheng's words soon attracted ridicule from public opinion on the island, and Taiwan netizens said, "Then there is no doubt that he will die."
In fact, the PLA's attack on the Dongsha Islands is only a false proposition. If the mainland decides to attack Taiwan, it will certainly not only target the Dongsha Islands, which has only 500 troops stationed there. The reason why the island borrowed the Wuzhi-10 to appear in the Taiwan Strait for the first time to hype the Plaster's attack on Dongsha was that its essence was to take advantage of the opportunity to hype up the Chinese threat.
The second thing is that the United States frequently plays the Taiwan card, and Blinken personally goes down to hype Taiwan's "entry into the United Nations." On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of China's restoration of its seat in the United Nations, the US political circles began to arch wildly to "promote Taiwan's meaningful participation in United Nations affairs." At the beginning, only some anti-China lawmakers and some officials participated in the speculation. But later, US Secretary of State Blinken, as the second-largest person in the Biden administration, publicly stated that "arching into the United Nations" is a pragmatic issue, not a political issue, and declared that it has not touched the bottom line of "one China". But as we all know, according to the United Nations, it is an intergovernmental international organization composed of sovereign States, and Taiwan is a province of China. By pushing Taiwan to participate in UN affairs, the United States is basically plotting to undermine the United States' commitment to the "one China" principle. It is worth noting that when Blinken's "Taiwan joined the United Nations, Wu Zhaoxie, head of Taiwan's foreign exchange department," was also visiting Europe and going farther and farther down the road of seeking "independence" crimes.
Third, China's Foreign Ministry has rarely issued a tough warning about the United States playing the Taiwan card. After Blinken stepped down to hype Taiwan's "joining the United Nations," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian directly refuted Blinken at a news conference, saying that the US statement seriously violated the one-China principle and the stipulations of the three Sino-US joint communiques, violated its own commitments, violated the basic norms governing international relations, and sent a serious wrong signal to the "Taiwan independence" forces.
It is particularly noteworthy that Zhao Lijian warned that if the US side continues to go black on the road of playing the "Taiwan card," it will inevitably pose a huge risk of subversion to Sino-US relations. After the eleventh link, the United States and Taiwan have been in constant collusion, and US politicians have constantly provoked China with the Taiwan issue, especially now that the European Union is also eye-catching with the DPP authorities because of the chip crisis, the Foreign Ministry's response this time is undoubtedly a warning to the Taiwan authorities to collude with external forces, and the objects of the warning include not only the United States, but also the Taiwan authorities and those external forces that collude with "Taiwan independence" elements. This may mean that the mainland may have to really make a move next.
Recently, under the arch fire of the United States, the "Taiwan independence forces" on the island have frequently colluded with the outside world to speculate, and the overall situation of the DPP is very clear, and it is impossible for them to blend into the United Nations. Doing so is nothing more than diverting the attention of the people on the island. The Taiwan region is in the midst of local elections approaching, and KMT Chairman Zhu Lilun has already finalized the "four major referendums" to launch a general offensive against the DPP; judging from the current polls, the "four major referendums" initiated by the KMT are likely to have all passed, and the DPP is facing unprecedented pressure. This can also be understood as to why the DPP authorities have recently frequently colluded with external forces and successively unleashed fierce materials to provoke the mainland.
