Peach little leafhopper Erythroneura sudra Distant, also known as a little leafhopper, peach little spotted leafhopper, belongs to the order Homoptera, leafhopper family.

【Host】Fruit trees such as peach, plum, and pear.

【Harmful】Adults and nymphs suck up leaf sap, and the yellow-white spots of the affected leaves gradually expand into pieces, and in severe cases, the whole leaves are pale and fall early.

【Morphological characteristics】 Adult insect Female body length 3.1 ~ 3.3mm, pale yellow, yellowish green or dark green, the head is obtuse angle protruding forward, the end angle is rounded, the crown and face are pale yellow or slightly green, there is a large and round black spot at the tip of the crown, there is a halo around the black spot, compound eye black; the front half of the dorsal plate of the forethax is yellow, the back half is dark yellow and green; the forewings are translucent and pale white, the wing veins are yellowish-green; the hindwings are colorless and transparent, the wing veins are dark; the feet are dark green. The male has a black band on the back of the abdomen, and the female has only 1 dark spot. The eggs are oblong-oval, slightly pointed at one end, milky white, translucent. Nymphs are all pale black-green, compound eyes are purple-black, and wing buds are green.

【Life Habits】In the south, 6 generations a year occur, and adult insects overwinter in weeds, under the deciduous layer and in tree crevices. The following year, after the peach trees sprout, the overwintering adults migrate to the trees for pest and reproduction. The eggs are scattered in the main vein tissue of the dorsal leaf, leaving a long brown fissure after the nymph hatches. In the early stage, it is harmful to flowers and young shoots, and the flowers are transferred to the leaves after the flowers are harmful. Nymphs prefer to live in groups on the back of the leaves, crawling or jumping when frightened. The damage period is from March to November, and it is severe from August to September.

【Control method】 (1) After autumn, completely remove fallen leaves and weeds, and burn them intensively to reduce the source of insects. (2) Spraying in time during the incubation of each generation of nymphs, the agent can be selected: 20% leafhopper dispersion (isopropylvir) emulsion 1000 times liquid, 10% imidacloprid wettable powder 2000 ~ 3000 times liquid, 25% thiazinone (pyrrolizine) wettable powder 1000 ~ 1500 times liquid, 50% pyrithodone water dispersible granules 2000 ~ 3000 times liquid.
