Acacia is also known as the velvet tree, lantana. Deciduous tree, summer flowering, cephalic inflorescence, corolla, multiple stamens, reddish. The flowers are pink and look very beautiful. At present, acacia trees are widely planted, but the acacia tree rose narrow giding is harmful all year round, and can cause tree death in severe cases.

[1] Occurrence characteristics

Rose narrow gidding is the main dried moth pest that harms acacia trees. The larvae feed on the cortex of acacia branches, and the phenomenon of glue flowing occurs at the victim' site. When the damage is mild, the trunk is gumlogged, the tree is weakened, and when it is severe, the insect scars are all over the trunk, causing the tree to die.

[2] Occurrence law

The worm is in annual generations. The larvae overwinter in the acacia cortex tunnel, continue to be active in late April of the following spring, and pupate in the tunnel in late May. After feathering, adults stay in the pupae for about 7 days, and the feathering is peak in mid- and late June. Adults love sunlight and often move south of the trunk, feeding on acacia leaves for supplemental nutrition. Cross-tail spawning is generally at noon on a sunny day, and the eggs are mostly laid on the south side of the trunk, with the most in the middle and lower parts of the trunk. After hatching, the larvae burrow into the bark layer and leak out tan glue from the borer holes. In early November, the larvae stop harming and dormant overwinter.

[3] Prevention and control plan

When the rose narrow gidding larvae begin to move, it is recommended to use the Cheng tapping package plus flow rot to paint the trunk, which can not only prevent the rose narrow gidding but also avoid the death of the tree body due to the flow of glue.
