A few days ago, the Southern + reporter learned at the Huizhou Fishery Research and Extension Center that in order to give back to the general public, the center has expanded the exhibition hall of the Huizhou Sperm Whale Theme Pavilion, and has completed the construction of the Marine Ecological Culture Corridor and resumed opening to the public on May 18.
Huizhou Fishery Research and Extension Center is a public welfare institution under the Huizhou Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, whose main functions are to engage in comprehensive fishery application technology research, pilot test, demonstration and promotion, and provide technical training and guidance services for farmers; fishery science popularization education. Relying on the construction of Huizhou Fishery Research and Promotion Center, Huizhou Sperm Whale Theme Museum is a science popularization education base in Guangdong Province and a science popularization education base in Huizhou City, and the theme museum is free to the public.
The relevant person in charge of huizhou fishery research and promotion center said that previously, due to the needs of epidemic prevention and control, the closure of the museum began at the end of January last year, at the same time, the center added about 600 square meters of marine ecological culture science popularization corridor on the basis of the original sperm whale theme museum, the theme hall is now open to an area of 1800 square meters, where the public can see more than ten kinds of whales and dolphins such as dwarf sperm whales and real dolphins, and the expanded science popularization corridor not only increases the knowledge of whale and dolphin science, but also effectively connects the original AB two museums into one, optimizing the visiting route.
