Ming Chengzu Zhu Di abolished the Jianwen era name after the successful Battle of Jingnan, and rebuilt the fourth year of Wen (1402) to the thirty-fifth year of Hongwu. Emperor Myeongjinzong issued an edict in the twenty-third year of the Wanli Calendar (1595) to restore the Jianwen era name.
