One of the beekeeping topics I want to talk to you about today is bee crawling disease, many novice beekeeping friends think that beekeeping disease is a specific disease of bees, but it is not so. Reptile bee disease refers to a general term for a type of disease in which bees crawl on the ground around the hive as the main symptom. From the analysis of the current research results, there are many causes of creeping bees, the causes are more complex, both biological and invoicant. Therefore, the performance after the disease also has its own characteristics, and the specific disease should be analyzed in detail!
First, bee mites
When the bee mites in the swarm are seriously harmed, the newly feathered young bees, with mutilated wings and feet, are incompletely developed, and cannot fly, the young bees on the field crawl everywhere, and there is more feces in the abdomen, and finally die in piles in low-lying places in the field, resulting in the phenomenon of climbing bees.

2. Spore disease
Microsporidiosis is an infectious disease commonly found in adult bees, where the sick bee is weak, thin, dark brown tail, sluggish, sluggish, accompanied by diarrhea, and bees that have lost the ability to fly crawl in the hive, in front of or nearby grass, and die soon after. In severe cases, queen bees and males can also die of the disease.
In the prevention of this disease, the effect of feeding acid feed, such as white vinegar, citric acid, it is best to use hawthorn water. Hawthorn water prevents honey from crystallizing and helps digestion. Wet hawthorn half a pound ~ one pound, hawthorn dried 2 to 3 two, boiled in water to filter out solid impurities, add 1:1 honey water, overwintering and early spring each feeding once, can prevent spore disease throughout the year.
3. Bee snail protoplasmosis
Spiroplasma bee is widely present in honey powder source plant flowers such as rapeseed and locust, and its pathogenic objects are mainly young adult bees. There are more crawling bees in the morning than in the afternoon, especially after the rain, and when the disease is serious, there are dead bees near the hive. Dead bees have spread wings, snouts outstretched, and the midgut is enlarged, some white and some black, and feces or green water accumulate in the hind intestine. When the disease is severe, not only adult bees crawl out of the box in large numbers, but also many young bees (with sound limbs) climb out of the nest door, and the group declines rapidly.
Fourth, manna honey poisoning and pesticide poisoning
When there is a lack of honey sources outside, the bees will collect nectar or honeydew and bring it back to the box to make the so-called manna honey, which is poisoned by indigestion after the bees eat it. During the interruption of the honey source, the bee colony is suddenly abnormally excited and active, and the field bee has a swollen abdomen, loses the ability to fly, and crawls on the ground. The sick honey sac is spherical in shape, the midgut is grayish-white, full of water and has a black flocculent, and the hind intestine is filled with thick, feces that are blue-black.
Pesticide poisoning will also lead to crawling bees, and poisoning is serious, the whole bee will suddenly appear a large number of dead bees, grumpy, unable to attach to the spleen, fall to the bottom of the box, the larvae are dragged out of the nest room and hung at the mouth of the nest room, and the "jumper" phenomenon occurs.
Fifth, climatic factors lead to crawling bees
In the long process of natural selection and evolution, bees have developed the ability to adapt to the climatic conditions of their habitats, but there are certain limits to this adaptation. Among the climatic factors that affect bee life, drastic changes in temperature can also lead to the occurrence of reptilian disease.
6. Diarrhea
This is a relatively common bee disease that causes bees to crawl bee, bee diarrhea often shows a large belly and excludes the characteristics of thin feces, this situation is generally caused by poor feed quality, such as feeding bees with tap water mixed with sugar, feeding expired honey or honey is easy to cause bee diarrhea. Replace the high-quality feed or promote the excretion of bees, strengthen the ventilation and insulation of the bee colony, and the bee colony will heal itself.
7. Curly wing disease
Curling wing disease is a bee disease that is easy to get in the middle of summer when the temperature exceeds 35 ° C, the bee colony is difficult to maintain the normal hive temperature, and it is difficult for the larvae to feather normally under high temperature and dryness, and there will be curly wing disease, resulting in the phenomenon of crawling bees. In this regard, the breeder needs to pay attention to the bee to imprison the king to spend the summer, and the queen of the bee cannot force the bee to stop production automatically.
8. Chronic paralysis of bees
Chronic bee paralysis is a reptile bee caused by a paralytic virus that multiplies in the bees' brains and ganglia, paralyzing the bees and dying. Chronic paralysis has two disease states, the belly of the belly type disease wasp is enlarged, the feet and wings are trembling, and finally the feet and wings are stretched out to be paralyzed; the black bee type of sick bee has a shiny abdomen and blackened. The disease occurs most often from midsummer to early autumn.
These are the different causes of bee crawling. If you still have questions, or want to share your experience, feel free to leave a message and share it with you.
