1 Brown-breasted Dharma monk (scientific name: Coracias benghalensis) medium-sized bird, body length 32 to 35 cm. The black mouth is thin and curved downwards. The crown is dark blue , the throat , upper back and part of the feathers are lilac , the upper thorax is purple with a blue central stripe , the lower thorax is brown , and the ventral and subtail coverts are pale blue. The waist is blue-purple, and the tail cover feathers are glow blue. The back and central tail feathers are dark green. The bright blue color on the wings and tail is very conspicuous when flying. When it stops, the bird looks dull, but up close you can see that its crown, tail covert feathers, and wings are a gorgeous blue-blue combination.

China is mainly distributed in Tibet and Yunnan as a resident bird, and Sichuan as a summer migratory bird.
Its natural habitats are sparse forest, bamboo forest, village and farmland area. They often move alone or in pairs, and also stand on dead branches or on power lines at the top of trees at the edge of forests, village edges, or farmland areas. Feeding habits: Feeds mainly on insects and other small animals, and occasionally eats plant seeds. It preys mainly in the air by flying, and sometimes on the ground.
The breeding season is from April to July. Nests usually nest in tree holes or in the walls of old buildings. Each clutch lays 3 to 5 eggs, usually 4, and the eggs are white
