U.S. Universities Soar 13% in International Graduate Enrollment

Recently, the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center released data showing that undergraduate enrollment at U.S. universities fell 3.2 percent in the fall semester of 2021, and the total number of undergraduate enrollments has fallen by 6.5 percent since fall 2019.

From this perspective, neither American universities nor American students have fully emerged from the impact of the epidemic.

However, enrollment at top universities has grown further. At private schools with lower acceptance rates, the number of new students enrolled in the fall semester of 2021 increased by 11.7%, compared to the fall of 2019, the number of new students enrolled increased by 2%.

Enrollment of new students at public universities with lower acceptance rates increased by 1.2 percent, with some public universities reaching new highs. For example, the university of Wisconsin-Madison has 8,465 new students, and the number of new students at the University of Utah has exceeded 34,000, reaching the largest number of new students in history.

In the fall of 2021, graduate registrations rose by 2.1%, especially for international graduate students, with enrollment soaring by 13.1%. Presumably, after being able to get vaccinated and study in the United States in 2021, more students choose to study in the United States.
