On October 8th, the Zhuolu County Grape Culture Tourism Festival with the theme of "PinbeiGuo Pearl, Winter Olympics" was opened in the 100-year-old Portuguese Garden of Waihugou Village, Wenquantun Town, Zhuolu County. At the opening ceremony, more than ten grape varieties such as longan, beauty finger, sunshine rose, mare's milk, and red tip were all unveiled for tourists to taste.
Not far away, the "Grape King", which has a history of more than 300 years, is full of ruby-like longan grapes, crystal clear and salivating. Villagers sing and dance, fruit farmers are busy harvesting, tourists are either picking or taking pictures, a scene of festive harvest.
WenquanTun Town is located in the golden belt of grape cultivation at 39° north latitude, and has been cultivating grapes for more than 1,000 years, and is the largest fresh table grape production base in Zhuolu County. Among them, longan grapes are the longest planted grape varieties in the town, where the longan grapes are large, thin skin, delicious taste, knife cutting is not overflowing, both suitable for fresh food, but also suitable for winemaking, by Guo Moruo as the "Pearl of the North", exported to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Anhui, Northeast three provinces and Russia and Southeast Asian countries. In 2017, longan grapes became ecological origin protection products. At present, the grape planting area of the town has reached more than 38,000 mu, and the annual output is about 120 million jin.
In recent years, Wenquan Tun Town has vigorously promoted the structural reform of the supply side, while retaining the traditional longan grape varieties, introducing the more favored early, medium and late ripening fresh food and wine grape varieties, grape varieties have developed from a single "longan" to more than 30 varieties such as white horse milk, jana, red tip, green tip, ke ti, rose fragrance, seedless white, seedless black and so on. Relying on the brand of "Longan Grapes", Wenquan Tun Town, with Guibing Grape Professional Cooperative as the leader, implements the ecological origin protection product project in the "Centennial Portuguese Garden" of Waihugou and relies on the high-quality longan and red grapes along the road from Donggushan to Lihugou, and the hot spring Tun Town develops a picking project integrating tourism and picking to achieve an increase in farmers' income.
Wang Bin, secretary of the Party Committee of Wenquantun Town, said that the next step will be to seize the opportunity of building the Beijing-Zhang sports and cultural tourism belt, strengthen and do a good job in the production base of 10,000 mu of fresh grapes, fully promote the construction of Dingling grape culture town, focus on the grape industry pattern of "one point, two gardens, two districts", rely on Ding Ling Memorial Hall, explore a new road for the integration and development of cultural tourism such as cultural towns and picking gardens, ecological gardens, and farmhouses, and truly cultivate hot spring tun grapes into happy fruits for rural revitalization.
