On 27 October, the Embassy in Mauritius donated books and teaching equipment to four primary schools in the eastern region of Maul Island. Nearly 20 people, including Ambassador to Mauritius Zhu Liying, Minister of Public Service, Administrative and Institutional Reform HuDoar, and representatives of teachers and students of donated primary schools, attended the donation ceremony.

Ambassador Zhu Liying said in his speech that children and young people are the future of the country and the nation. Both China and Mao have attached great importance to the development of education and have carried out fruitful cooperation in this field. Last year, the Embassy donated masks to the four schools to help the school fight the epidemic, and today, the Embassy once again donated books, teaching equipment and materials to the school, hoping to further improve the working conditions of teachers and provide a better learning environment for children. Next year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mauritius, and the two countries will jointly organize a series of celebrations, expecting students from the four schools and all Mao teenagers to actively participate in them. I also hope that the children will study hard, live up to Shaohua, and become the builders of Mauritius and the messengers of China-Mauritius friendship in the future.

In his speech, Minister Hudoar thanked the Chinese Embassy for once again donating materials to relevant schools to help teachers and students tide over the epidemic. Hu said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mauritius in 1972, pragmatic cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and other fields has yielded fruitful results. After the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in Mao, the Chinese government donated epidemic prevention materials and vaccines to Mao for the first time, and provided convenience and assistance for Mao's procurement of vaccines. It is precisely because of China's strong support that Mao has been able to smoothly promote the vaccination of the whole people and become one of the countries with the highest vaccination rates in the world. In addition, China has provided personnel training opportunities to the Mao Public Service for a long time, making important contributions to the construction of the Mao civil service team. It is hoped that China will continue to pay attention to and support the development of Mao in various fields and bring more benefits to the two peoples.

After the donation ceremony, Ambassador Zhu, accompanied by Minister Hudoar, visited Olivia Primary School and had cordial exchanges with teachers and students of the school.
