Li Geng, born in Beijing in 1950, is the son of Mr. Li Keyan and given the name Geng by Mr. Qi Baishi. He studied under Li Keyan, Huang Yongyu and Li Kuchan, and is currently the president of Li Keyan Painting Institute, an academic member of the Li Keyan Art Foundation, a researcher of the National Academy of Painting of China, and a professor and researcher of Kyoto University of Plastic Arts in Japan.
Inherit the spirit of Li Kejian
The first president of the Li Kejian Painting Academy was Zou Peizhu, Li Kejian's wife, Li Kejian's son Li Geng, as the executive dean, and the art theorist Shao Dazhen as the director of the art committee. Li Geng said that the academy is a model unique to China, and the initial idea is to strive to do a good job and make contributions. Li Geng's initial plan is to build Li Kejian Painting Institute into a model of "research institute + painting academy", so that it has both research ability and professionalism.
Li Geng introduced that the establishment of Li Ke Dye Painting Institute is mainly to inherit the style of "Li Family Landscape". Li Geng said that lijia landscape has "three spirits" is the most important in Lijia landscape style. One is the "Bitter School", which advocates the final results through hard practice and continuous efforts; the second is to attach importance to the publicity of individuality and the style of Chinese national painting; the third is to pay attention to the study of the basics of painting, and practicing solid basic skills is the foundation of art. Li Geng said that the significance of the establishment of the Li Ke dye painting institute is to inherit the three spirits of the Li family landscape, and to pass on the essence of the Li family landscape through cooperation with other painting schools and the funding of the Li Ke dye foundation.
Reluctant to call the Li Ke Dye school of painting
As the first president of Li Kedian Painting Academy, Zou Peizhu has his own understanding of how to manage Li Kejian Painting Academy. She believes that the model of the painting academy is too relaxed, more suitable for the emotional cultivation of painters, and as a college that inherits the artistic spirit of Li Kejian, it should be established as the model of the art academy, and the university system should be used to make it rigorous in its study, in order to cultivate a group of outstanding talents.
Li Geng said: "My mother did not like the name 'Li Ke Dye Painting School' and always wanted to 'get rid of' it. She simply refers to the "Chinese Painting School" to the outside world. My mother believes that there is no need for Chinese painting to divide the factions too clearly. Training students is the same, there is no need to deliberately follow the number of 'Li Family Landscape', as long as you can lay a solid foundation in the basic skills, drawing your own style is even if you have learned. ”
