Therefore, the egret is also considered to be a monitoring bird of atmospheric and water quality conditions, preferring to inhabit lakes, swamps and wet forests, and enjoying the reputation of "environmental protection birds".
Egrets feed on a variety of small fish and aquatic insects. "Picky eaters" choose to "settle" in Shuangliu, which also indicates that the ecological environment of Shuangliu continues to improve.
According to reports, in the past 5 years, Chengdu Shuangliu District has taken the good ecological environment as the most inclusive people's livelihood and well-being, taking the two rounds of central governors and provincial governors as an opportunity to fight the three major battles of blue sky, clear water and pure land, systematically rectifying difficult problems such as catering fumes, scattered polluted enterprises, slag transportation, and dust from construction sites, last year's PM2.5 and PM10 decreased by 52.3% and 52.7% compared with 2016, and the number of days with excellent air increased by 133 days.
In the past three years, Shuangliu District has invested 4.23 billion yuan in the transformation and construction of 18 new sewage treatment plants (stations), built 283 kilometers of new drainage pipe networks, effectively solved the problem of insufficient sewage treatment capacity, carried out special rectification of renewable resource recovery sites, strictly controlled agricultural non-point source pollution, and the safe utilization rate of polluted land was 100%. In 2020, the ranking of the city in the ecological environment status index increased by 8 places compared with 2016, and the degree of improvement ranked first in the "11+3" central urban area.
