Hohhot, 16 Sep (China News Service) -- On 16 September, the Hohhot City Intermediate People's Court publicly pronounced a verdict on the case of defendant Ma Changgui's intentional homicide, sentencing defendant Ma Changgui to death for intentional homicide and depriving him of his political rights for life.
The court trial found that at about 8 o'clock on October 9, 2020, Ma Yigui found a sheep that had been lost for many days in the sheep pen of Wang Moujia in Heilang Trench Village, Wuchuan County, and called the police for help after unsuccessfully asking for help.
Two police officers from the Erfenzi Township Police Station in Wuchuan County, Xu X, a staff member of the Village Committee of Heilang Trench Village, and others cooperated in the mediation of the dispute, and Wang Moujia's brother Wang Mouyi also participated in the mediation.
During the mediation process, the defendant Ma Changgui returned home and hid a single-edged knife on his body and returned to the scene. At about 12:45, when everyone was identifying the paint marks on the sheep, Ma Yigui suddenly stabbed the police officer Zhang X in the abdomen with a knife, and stabbed Wang X in the abdomen, and then began to chase after others, stabbed Xu X in the chest outside the sheep pen door, stabbed Wang X A twice in the chest, and Wang X C in the chest, causing Zhang X and Wang X to die on the spot, Wang X C was sent to the hospital for rescue and died ineffectively, and Xu X and Wang X were seriously injured. Soon, Ma Wasgui was arrested by the public security organs at home.
The court held that the defendant Ma Changgui deliberately and illegally deprived others of their lives with a knife only because of a neighborhood dispute, resulting in the death of 3 people and serious injuries to 2 people, and his behavior constituted the crime of intentional homicide.
After the defendant Ma Yigui committed the crime, he left the scene of the crime and returned home, but did not voluntarily surrender, which did not constitute voluntary surrender. During the investigation and mediation process of the public security organs and the villagers' committee, the defendant Ma Changgui returned home and hid a single-edged knife in his body and returned to the scene, and stabbed many people with a knife in the follow-up mediation process, which was a premeditated crime. Although the appraisal confirmed that the sheep in dispute belonged to defendant Ma Changgui, it could not be concluded that the victim Wang Moujia was seriously at fault for triggering the case.
In the end, the court sentenced the defendant Ma Changgui to death for intentional homicide and deprived of political rights for life. (China News Network)
