Company Description: Pixar Animation Studios, referred to as Pixar, is a company specializing in computer animation. The company is currently based in Emeryville, California, USA.
The company has also developed cutting-edge computer 3D software, including one designed for 3D animation: PRMan, which allows you to make photo-realistic 3D images. Pixar's predecessor was the computer animation department of George Lucas's film company. In 1979, due to the success of the Star Wars films, Lucasfilm set up a computer graphics division and hired Edwin Catham to design electronic editing and special effects systems with other technicians. Catham was later credited with being the founder of Pixar and the inventor of purely computer-produced films. In 1984, John Lasseter, who had just left Disney, joined Lucas's computer animation department and became an important figure in what would become Pixar, who was the driver of Pixar's creativity. In 1986, Steve Jobs acquired George Lucas' computer animation department for $10 million to form Pixar Animation Studios. In 2006, Pixar was acquired by Disney for $7.4 billion, becoming part of the Walt Disney Company.
Pixar has attracted the attention of the world since its inception. At their first performance at SIGGRAPH, their animated short film won acclaim from the public. Moreover, their works have become classics of computer animation. Their animations are included in computer animation teaching textbooks for reference. The Pixar video produced every year is a hit at the Oscars.

Icon Productions is an American independent production company founded in August 1989 by Mel Gibson and Bruce Davey. According to Mel, the name of the company means "icon" in Greek, but the name was inspired by a book called Russian icons in his den. The logo of the company is a partial portrait of the Virgin Mary of Vladimir. In September 2008, Gibson and Davey sold the company to Stewart Till, chairman of United International Pictures and the UK Film Council, Millwall F.C., and the acquisition was officially completed in 2009, and the new company will continue to retain its original name and continue to produce independent films.
