In the 1960s and 1970s, three small and small things happened on the Korean Peninsula, and as a result, North Korea did not give any face and directly pressed the United States to the ground and rubbed it.
These three things are:
In 1968, the US "Pueblo" armed spy ship was directly seized, and 78 american troops were killed and wounded and 78 people were captured;
In 1969, the EC-121M reconnaissance aircraft of the US military was directly shot down, and all 31 officers and men of the US military were killed;
In 1976, American soldiers fought for Koreans at Panmunjom, and as a result, it was unbearable...

, the Korean People's Army did not say a word, raised the machine gun and strafed, the US army was killed and wounded, and 78 people were captured

After the end of the Korean War, the North and the South did not sign a peace agreement, but the warring parties signed an "armistice agreement", and South Korea has not yet signed it. Therefore, theoretically speaking, the north and the south are still in a state of substantial "war"; the front line of confrontation between the two sides is the "38th line".
In order to protect the depth of their front, the two sides planted a large number of mines in their respective areas along the 38th Line, making this place the largest and most dense "minefield" in the world.
After the armistice, the two camps of the United States and the Soviet Union confronted each other, the United States struggled in the quagmire of the Vietnam War, and did not have more to worry about the Korean Peninsula; and North Korea, with the help of the socialist camp led by the Soviet Union, continued to develop its economy, and its national income was second to none in Asia, and South Korea could not compare with North Korea.
In 1961, South Korea's Park Chung-hee came to power through a coup d'état, a man who was the Right-Hand Man of the Japanese during the Japanese colonial period and had a Japanese name: Masao Takagi; he was a senior officer during the Korean War.
Park Chung-hee is flanked by daughter Park Geun-hye
After coming to power, Park Chung-hee pursued a harsh anti-communist policy, severely suppressing and slaughtering all left-wing progressives. In particular, in 1967, Park Chung-hee kidnapped international students and artists in East Germany who longed for the north, tortured and killed them.
All of this has long aroused the anger of the north, the conflict near the "38th Line" is continuous, the exchange of fire occurs from time to time, and the situation on the peninsula is on the verge of breaking out.
On January 5, 1968, in order to reconnoiter the situation in North Korea and collect the contents of North Korean communications, the United States sent an armed spy ship "Pueblo" to the territorial waters of north Korea to carry out reconnaissance missions. The armed reconnaissance ship was small, only 900 tons; the firepower was not strong, with only two self-defending 12.5 mm machine guns; nor was it fast, 12.7 knots. However, the ship's radio detection capabilities and underwater acoustic detection capabilities are very strong.
Before leaving, the Americans also did a security risk assessment, and the conclusion was: low risk. Because they had always done so before, and had not had any accidents; on the other hand, they were disguised as fishing boats, and many countries were fine and unwilling to trouble them, and at best they were expelled.
But this time the Americans kicked the iron plate, South Korea persecuted progressives, and the North was angry: the reason why South Korea was so arrogant was not because the United States supported it behind its back. Therefore, as soon as the US reconnaissance ship arrived on the east coast of North Korea, it was targeted, and this time, north Korea wanted to come and "beat the owner to show the dog."
On January 16, 1968, the "Pueblo" armed spy ship came to the east coast of North Korea to begin work, and the captain, Lieutenant Colonel Booker, was also very careful, maintaining full-time radio silence, and the reconnaissance ship searched like a ghost floating on the sea, searching for all radio signals and submarine signals nearby.
On January 23, when the Pueblo armed spy ship arrived 13 nautical miles outside the port of Wonsan, North Korea's hunting submarine quickly approached and asked by radio, "Which country are you?" At the same time, four North Korean torpedo boats also rushed in, looking at the posture and obviously prepared.
Lieutenant Colonel Booker, the captain of the reconnaissance ship, replied: We are a marine research vessel. An American flag was raised. At the same time as the national flag was raised, two North Korean MiG-21 fighter jets roared over the heads of the spy ship, and the North Korean submarine hunter ordered the US ship: Your ship immediately follows our ship to dock for inspection!
The SURFACE OF THE US SPY SHIP LOOKS LIKE a CIVILIAN SHIP, BUT IN FACT IT IS ALL MILITARY STANDARD EQUIPMENT, THE CREW MEMBERS ARE ALL FIGHTERS, AND WHEN CHECKING THE QUASI-EXPOSED STUFFING, SO CAPTAIN Booker commanded the crew to smash the electronic equipment on the ship and destroy the documents, while directing the ship to flee to the open sea.
North Korean torpedo boats saw green smoke from burning paper rising from U.S. military ships, U.S. troops pouring things into the sea, and ships fleeing into the open sea, apparently disobeying orders. They immediately strafed the U.S. armed spy ship with 14.5mm machine guns, killing one person and wounding four people on the spot. The US military took a look: it could not run away. He couldn't fight and fight, so he had to surrender.
The captive took a picture, the captain unconvincedly put up his middle finger, and was later found, beaten half to death
North Korea captured 78 U.S. troops, killed one, and wounded three, which made the old face of the U.S. military rest. However, at this time, the Vietnam War was gelling, and the United States did not have the strength to make trouble in Korea again, and it was a little helpless for a while.
When the DPRK and the United States negotiated on this matter at Panmunjom, the United States proposed: The DPRK will let people go first, and the rest will talk later. North Korea has paid no attention to the United States, and they have demanded three things: admit their mistakes, apologize, and promise not to do so in the future.
On December 17, 1968, the United States made a "conditional" apology, admitted its mistake, and promised that such incidents would not happen again; North Korea released prisoners (known as "hostages" by the United States), but the ship was not returned, and North Korea announced "confiscation." Then, the boat was pulled to the edge of the Datong River, and a base for "patriotic education" was built for all countries in the world to visit.
Famous attractions along the Datong River: American reconnaissance ships
In order to force the DPRK to return the ship, the US military's "Enterprise" aircraft carrier formation came to the east coast of the DPRK with nuclear weapons, saying that if the DPRK did not return it, even the ship would be blown up together; the DPRK was not ambiguous, and vigorously strengthened its military deployment near the "38th Line.", a picture of "life and death are indifferent, and if you don't obey, you will do it."
The American nose is crooked, but there is nothing that can be done. After the prisoners returned, they immediately tried the captain and the deputy captain in a military tribunal, saying that since they were armed ships or army sequences, they surrendered without a fight and were humiliated. As for the "ship", if it doesn't come back, it will not come back.

second, the ship will not return, and the plane will be killed again. Nixon's life was not good

After the "Pueblo" armed spy ship was confiscated by the DPRK, the United States did not dare to send reconnaissance ships to the east of the DPRK. However, the combat ships with strong firepower did not dare to send them, because when things got big, it was war. The Korean War ended with a hard time, and it would be troublesome to fight again.
The economic situation in North Korea is much better than that of South Korea, and all indications are that the tension between the North and the South is getting heavier. What is the attitude of the USSR? What is China's attitude? The Americans are bottomless, and they want to continue to listen to the communication signals in the northeast of North Korea, hoping to analyze the clues here.
Ships cannot be sent, then "reconnaissance planes" will be sent, and the "reconnaissance planes" of the US military are famous all over the world, and to this day, the United States is still the most advanced in this regard. As a result, the US military has continuously dispatched "EC-121M reconnaissance aircraft" to reconnoiter the airspace near northeast Of Korea.
The EC-121 reconnaissance aircraft belongs to the Air Force and is a reconnaissance and early warning aircraft entered service by the US military in 1955, and the main body of the aircraft is a "C-121" transport aircraft, which is equipped with many sensing and early warning systems, and there are six tons of electronic equipment alone. At that time, there were very few countries with such reconnaissance aircraft, which were advanced electronic warfare equipment, and the concept of "electronic warfare" was not yet known.
There are many models of this aircraft, such as: EC-121D, K, M, P, Q, R, C, S, T, etc., different models, different tasks. There are training, there are reconnaissance, there are early warnings, there are controls, there are data relays, there are anti-submarine detections, and so on.
At exactly 7:00 a.m. on April 15, 1969, an EC-121M reconnaissance plane took off on time from Atsugi Base in Japan on a mission code-named "Shadow of a Beggar." Crew members are familiar with such missions, flying more than twice a week for two years, and there has never been a problem. This "M" reconnaissance aircraft is of the early warning type, indicating that the signal collection ability is strong.
After the EC-121M reconnaissance plane took off from the Atsugi base, the US ground observation radar stared at the plane uninterruptedly, after all, the work of going out could not be seen, so they could not rest assured until the plane returned. Moreover, the United States recently lost a lot of face in the "Pueblo" armed spy ship incident.
At 12:30 noon, the US ground radar found that there were fighter planes over the DPRK, of course, the appearance of aircraft in people's own airspace had nothing to do with the United States, so the US military did not pay attention to it; at 13:20, the US military observed the radar horror of the discovery: the cursor of the US EC-121M reconnaissance plane disappeared on the radar screen, and at the same time disappeared the NORTH Korean fighter cursor.
The radar target disappears, and as long as it is not a radar failure, it is that the plane has fallen, and there is no other explanation. The U.S. military sent two F-106 fighter jets and two destroyers to search and rescue. What they saw, however, was heartbreaking: all eight officers and 23 soldiers of the EC-121M reconnaissance plane were killed, their bodies unrecognizable, and what was fished out was a pile of fragmented limbs.
Seeing such a scene, the American people were heartbroken and heartbroken. "President, our plane was shot down, sacrificing 31 people." The situation was reported to President Nixon, who was completely stunned and did not know what to do. The U.S. military moved quickly, and in three months, it had prepared 22 plans for military retaliation, including a nuclear strike program named "FreeFall".
Of course, the day after the incident, several aircraft carriers of the US military, including the "Enterprise," sailed to the east of the DPRK, and the DPRK and the United States also made contact at Panmunjom:
- "Why shoot down our plane?" ”
" You have violated our airspace, and we have been forced to defend ourselves. ”
"Our plane is 80 kilometers away from your coastline. ”
- "That's our airspace." ”
- "You must ensure that no such incidents occur"
- "You must promise not to invade." ”。
It was a lot of noise.
To explain, the so-called territorial airspace is the sky above your territory and territorial waters. The concept of territorial water, the United States and North Korea have different interpretations, the United States Navy is powerful, they hope that the smaller the territorial water, the better, the rest are international waters, the Americans have not joined the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea is this reason, he wants to take advantage of the benefits, bad things to do absolutely.
Countries with weak maritime power such as North Korea want the territorial sea line to be as large as possible, and some small countries have proposed 600 nautical miles of territorial waters, because they can't go farther, so they can control more points on the side, and they can control more points. Therefore, the concept of the two countries is different.
On the one hand, the Vietnam War is still a troublesome matter, and they do not have the strength to open another battlefield, not to mention that this big battlefield has just ended a big war, and the United States has withdrawn very badly; on the other hand, the North Korean loudspeaker said that he had laid down the American plane, and the Americans did not believe it at all. Because this EC-121M reconnaissance plane was the most advanced aircraft at the time, how could it be possible to let the Demigog, which threatened its own safety, fly to the side.
The Americans suspected that Soviet missiles had done it, but there was no evidence. Fortunately, there is no evidence, otherwise things would be more troublesome. Of the 22 retaliatory plans made by the US military, analyzed by a group of people at the top, none of them can strike north Korea without causing an all-out war.
The more North Korea says that it fought itself, the more weak the United States becomes. The United States does not dare to think that this was fought by the Soviet Union, the United States does not want to believe that this is fought by North Korea, and the United States is afraid that it is the work of the nationalists in South Korea who want to fight. Because at that time, the peninsula, the north and south had reached the point of death and death, and both sides were sending people to assassinate each other.
The adventurous guys in South Korea may be trying to use the United States to provoke war. If this is the case, the United States is an out-and-out "wronged boss." Many years later, the "Cheonan Incident" was actually similar to this one, except that the situation changed: the North and the South eased up, and the United States wanted them to separate.
In the end, Nixon weighed it up and did not start a war. In less than half a year, the DPRK confiscated the US reconnaissance ship and shot down the US reconnaissance plane. "All imperialism is a paper tiger", which was verified in North Korea.
However, today we are realistically saying that it may have been a good choice for the United States not to fight at that time, not that they were afraid of war, nor that they were afraid of North Korea. If you cover your head and bombard North Korea indiscriminately, that's what happened. I am afraid that only some of the later policies of the United States will be changed.

Third, American soldiers fight for Koreans at Panmunjom, and the result is unbearable
...
Fights, The North Koreans are serious. After the United States withdrew from Vietnam, the pressure on it was reduced a lot, and only then did the United States really have a little heart to engage in economic construction. The world was peaceful, despite the calm underground grass. The most accident-prone is the Korean Peninsula, and the fuse is the "38th Line".
At both ends of the "38th Line", the area of confrontation between the dprk and the ROK troops is a narrow public strip in the middle, which is generally not entered; of course, if you enter, it is not a big deal, as long as you are not on the other side's line; but when one side enters the public area, the other side must be on high alert. In 1975 and 1976, North Korea and the United States got into a fight in this public area.
On June 30, 1975, there were many people in the public area of the second post of the "38th Line", and a reporter from North Korea wanted to take some pictures. Of course, the U.S. and South Korean militaries are also on high alert. There is a long chair in this area, which may be commemorative, and North Korean journalists want to take photos of this chair.
A major officer in the U.S. military named William Henderson was also in the common area, and he was sitting loudly in a chair, and the North Korean reporter asked him to get out of the way. Major Henderson, who is usually respected by the Koreans, where do he put the North Koreans in his eyes and say that he is a "great American major", how can he listen to you? The two sides already had a deep hatred, coupled with a bad tone, they pushed and shoved.
Fight, the North Koreans are serious, no matter who you are, just do it. They are also very skilled in fighting, and their fists are specifically used to greet you for harm. After a few strokes of your coming and going, Major Henderson's throat bone was broken, he collapsed on the ground and "hissed", unable to breathe, and was taken to the rear hospital by an emergency helicopter to save a small life.
Looking at the bear-like appearance of Major Henderson lying on a hospital bed with a broken throat bone, the U.S. army field commander was so angry that he was dying. Because when the fight was fought, the South Koreans were on the side, and no one helped; what was even more infuriating was that the North Koreans beat Henderson and took pictures in the public areas with great power, not afraid at all.
The Americans called on The South Korean officers, scolded them, and asked the South Koreans to get their face back, that is, to beat up the North Koreans. Public areas cannot be entered with guns, which is the rule. South Korean soldiers came to the public area with a large axe and slashed it indiscriminately, really cutting the North Koreans away. Come back and report to the U.S. military: We cut and wounded the North Koreans, and they ran away.
It was gone, but the South Koreans' axes, the North Koreans remembered. The following year, in 1976, something happened again. This time it was not because of the chair, but a large tree in the common area, which is said to have been planted by the North Korean leader in his early years and has a special significance.
Here's the thing. The trees in the common area grew particularly well, and the lush foliage blocked the view of the observation post on the south side of the 38th Line; so the American army wanted to cut down the tree. According to the regulations, when the US military enters this area to cut down trees, it must inform the north in advance and discuss it before cutting it.
However, the U.S. military did not do so. On August 18, U.S. Capt. Arthur Penipas and Lieutenant Mark Barrett, each armed with an axe, led 2 U.S. soldiers, 5 South Korean soldiers, 5 South Korean workers, and chainsaws to the common area to cut down trees.
These two U.S. officers may also be idle, do not want the workers to do it, and cut it with a large axe. When the soldiers on the North Korean side saw this situation, of course they did not dry it, but this was a tree planted by the leader. So, their Captain Park Chul, with 4 fighters, ran over with his bare hands to stop them.
As soon as the U.S. military saw North Korea, five people came, and they were bare-handed, and they didn't pay attention to them at all. Words are not speculative, and the fight starts. Unexpectedly, the North Korean soldiers fought really badly, and somehow, the axe was snatched by Captain Park Chul, who took the axe and shouted a loud cry to split it, and the head of American Captain Arthur Bernipas immediately became in half.
Lieutenant Mark Barrett saw that his brother was dead, his eyes were red, and he was desperately carrying a large axe; but he was no match for the North Korean soldiers, and in less than three minutes he was beaten to the ground and breathless.
The remaining South Korean soldiers and two American creeps were also beaten and ran back. North Korean soldiers also returned with two captured axes.
In a fight, he was hacked to death and injured eight on the side, and the Americans were deadly. Obviously, there were only five people on the North Korean side, all of whom were bare-handed; there were more than a dozen American troops with two large axes.
Therefore, the North Koreans insist that they have done nothing wrong; as for the killing of two US officers, the North Korean side feels "regret". That's it, there's nothing to say.
The Americans are on fire, and they are determined to save face and must cut down this tree. The Pentagon transferred 20 advanced F-111 fighters, 3 B-52 bombers, and 34 F-4 Ghost II fighters to South Korea, which were advanced and capable of carrying nuclear warheads, to South Korea, and sent the USS Midway into the Sea of Japan.
Subsequently, the U.S. commander in South Korea, Steven, developed a battle plan called "Paul Bunyan". The plan is to first declare the US military in South Korea into a state of combat readiness; South Korea selects 64 taekwondo masters from the "special airborne brigade" to prepare for a fight with North Korea; the US military sends several soldiers to cut down trees.
The US military is also afraid of a real fight, and they do not believe in the "masters" of south Korea at all, so before cutting down the tree, they specially sent a liaison officer to send a note to the NORTH Korean side:
Our work squad will continue to cut down the poplar trees that obscure the view of our military posts, and the work squad will withdraw from the common security area after completing its tasks, and if the work squad is not provoked by any provocation, no problems will occur.
The U.S. military cut down the trees
In order to prevent accidents, the US military made full preparations as if they were facing a great enemy, and all of them entered a wartime state. At 6:00 a.m. on August 21, the US military began to cut down trees, and the perimeter was guarded by the "masters" of the Rok military fighting.
Soon, the tree was cut down, and the North Korean side was quiet, nothing happened, and the top level accidentally said: The tree can be cut. However, the U.S. military felt a loss when it came to thinking about it, and in order to cut down the tree, one of its captains was hacked to death and a lieutenant was beaten to death.
In addition, when the U.S. military cut down trees, North Korea held a commendation meeting to honor Captain Park Chul, who was extremely brave in the last fight, and his rank was also promoted to major.
These events really happened near the "38th Line" in the 1960s and 1970s. Americans are now overdrawing their credibility and national strength; in the long run, sooner or later, the family wealth of the early Elite of the United States will be wiped out by the current class of "ignorant political sticks."
