Han Xingyan, who worked as a laborer in the 731 engineering class, recalled that he hid in a nearby cornfield that summer and peeked at the devils conducting poison gas experiments. A group of Japanese troops marched into Chengzigou. Sentries were set up around Tucheng. Soon several large trucks and a car with an iron shed came. The Japanese led the horses from the trucks into the earthen walls of the chengzigou and carried some cages containing weasels and guinea pigs into them. From the iron shed car, several shackled, blindfolded Chinese were dropped. When these people were escorted into the earthen wall, the fracture of the earthen wall was blocked with mats. But the answer can be found in a poison gas experiment experienced by Chinese laborer Fu Jingqi when he was a cooker in Unit 731.
He said: One evening in the summer of 1945, Unit 731 was preparing to conduct a military exercise and asked 10 Chinese cookers in the canteen to also carry cooking utensils with the army. A Japanese gendarme named Yasushi Watanabe, in his later article "Living Hell", also described the tragic killing of Chinese with poison gas: "On November 10, 1934, in the name of arresting anti-Japanese elements, we arrested more than a dozen civilians in the streets and put them in a detention center. The next day, a man was forcibly imprisoned in a closed laboratory with a very small space, injected with ventricular gas, and his life was taken a few minutes later. In order to make the most of this person, he was quickly sent to the autopsy room for autopsy after poisoning him. This barbaric experiment was carried out once a day in the morning and afternoon for a total of 10 days. ”
In fact, the poison gas experiment in Chengzigou at that time was only moved from the small world of the laboratory to the big world in the wilderness, and it focused on a more lethal actual combat effect. That bloodshed, that cruelty, was just as shocking.
