Making way for Generation 5, Forza Horizon 4 is about to stop updating content

Forza Horizon 5 was showcased at E3 last month, and the game is coming on sale on November 9. With the new game just around the corner, the development update for the previous game, Forza Horizon 4, is coming to an end, as developer Playground Games is focused on developing the new game, Forza Horizon 5.

Making way for Generation 5, Forza Horizon 4 is about to stop updating content

On a recent monthly Forza live show, Playground discussed what the upcoming release of Forza Horizon 5 means for content development for Horizon 4. As players might expect, content development for Forza Horizon 4 is essentially coming to an end. After the Series 37 update on June 29, subsequent updates no longer include new content.

Senior producer Tom Butcher said: "With the launch of Forza Motorsport 5 becoming our top priority in the coming months, we have made some changes to the monthly series update for Forza Horizon 4. So starting with Series Update 38, veteran players will start to see a return from Series 7 to 32. You can think of it as a hybrid tape with some of your favorite content coming back and combining it with new features that have been added recently. ”

Butcher says it should be a lot of fun to relive those moments and see how players handle them a second time. Obviously with all the recent series updates, players will have photo challenges, rewards, Forzathon Shop, backstage voting, and much more.

When asked if Forza Horizon 4 would continue to receive updates after the release of Forza Horizon 5, Butcher replied that the Playground program ensures that Forza Horizon 4 continues to be a fun experience, but they are not ready to share the exact plan.
