East China University of Science and Technology, formerly known as East China Institute of Chemical Technology, was founded in 1952 by the chemical engineering departments of Jiaotong University, Aurora University, Datong University, Soochow University, Jiangnan University and other universities. In 1972, it was renamed Shanghai Institute of Chemical Technology, in 1980 it was restored to its original name of East China Institute of Chemical Technology, and in 1993 it was renamed East China University of Science and Technology.
In 1960, East China University of Science and Technology was identified as a key university directly under the Ministry of Education, and it is also one of the key universities in the "211" project. The new campus of the university, located in the Fengxian Bay area of Shanghai, covers an area of 1545 acres and was officially completed and put into use in 2007. 6. Donghua University Songjiang Campus - the best new campus for food
Donghua University is a key university directly under the Ministry of Education and one of the key universities of the national "211" project. The school was founded in 1951 by the merger of the Textile Department of Jiaotong University, the private Shanghai Textile Institute of Technology, and the Textile Department of Shanghai Industrial College, and was named "East China Textile Institute of Technology". It was renamed China Textile University in 1985 and Donghua University in 1999.
Donghua University Songjiang Campus is located in Songjiang New Town University Town, construction began in October 2002, covering an area of about 1,500 acres, with a construction area of nearly 330,000 square meters. There are more than 100 acres of lakes in the center of the campus - Jingyue Lake and the landmark graphic information center building, surrounded by four major areas: teaching area, experimental area, college area and sports life area. 7. Songjiang Campus of Shanghai University of Foreign Chinese - the most foreign new campus
Shanghai Overseas Chinese University is also a key university directly under the Ministry of Education and one of the key universities of the national "211" project. Founded in December 1949, the Shanghai Russian Language School affiliated to the East China People's Revolutionary University was the first higher foreign language school established after the founding of New China, and the first president was Jiang Chunfang, a famous Russian translator, publisher and founder of the Chinese encyclopedia business. Later, after the East China People's Revolutionary University attached to the Foreign Languages College, the Shanghai Russian Language Training (Subject) School, in 1956 the school was named "Shanghai Overseas Chinese College". In 1994, it was renamed "Shanghai Overseas Chinese University".
Built in 2003, the new Campus of Shangwai is located in Songjiang University Town, covering a total area of 57.8 hectares (about 867 acres), and is known as the most foreign campus in Shanghai universities. The teaching buildings are designed and manufactured according to the architectural styles of different language countries, which fully reflect the characteristics of Shangwai, such as the Islamic style Oriental Language Institute, the Victorian Style English College, and the Toei Style Japanese Culture and Economics College. 8. Baoshan Campus of Shanghai University - the most beautiful new campus
Shanghai University is a key comprehensive university in Shanghai and one of the key universities in the national "211" project. The history of the name of Shanghai University can be traced back to the Republic of China period, when the Kuomintang and the Communists cooperated to create Shanghai University in 1922, and in 1927 it was forcibly closed by the Kuomintang authorities. In 1983, the Shanghai Municipal People's Government established Shanghai University on the basis of Fudan University Branch, Shanghai Overseas Chinese College Branch, East China Normal University Instrument electronics Branch, Shanghai University of Science and Technology Branch, Shanghai Mechanical Institute Light Industry Branch, and Shanghai Fine Arts School. In 1994, Shanghai University and Shanghai University of Technology (founded in 1960), Shanghai University of Science and Technology (founded in 1958) and Shanghai Science and Technology College (founded in 1959) merged to form the new Shanghai University.
The new campus of Shanghai University is located in the Dachang area of Baoshan, covering a total area of about 2,000 mu, and the first phase of the project was completed and opened in September 1999. The campus has a beautiful environment, pleasant scenery, flowers and plants, and trees, and a chrysanthemum exhibition is held every autumn, known as Baoshan District People's Park.
