In winter, many times during morning runs, I saw them curled up on the heated manhole cover in the theater yard to take a nap."
Because the office window at that time was facing the backstage entrance, Chen Yan watched this group of people busy every day. After leaving the Xiqu Research Institute, he suddenly felt that the image of the person who installed the stage and the picture of the stage appeared in his mind more and more and more intensely, "When the protagonist wins a round of applause, it is the time when the people behind the scenes are most tired." Such a beautiful place as the stage, how many people have made sacrifices and dedications behind them, I especially want to show them. Their struggle, forbearance and resilience are all a kind of spirit that our Chinese nation needs very much." Chen Yan said that writing "Loading The Stage" is also related to his previous work "Xijing Story" - "Xijing Story" also wrote the story of a group of migrant workers, "writing is still not exhausted, I feel as if I still have a new cognition in my head at that time, and I need to continue to write."

Compared with the original work of "Loading Stage", the TV drama version of "Loading Stage" is more bright and relaxed, Chen Yan believes that this is because the expression methods and audiences of the two art carriers are different, and he also likes the adaptation of the TV series very much, "The adaptation is very warm, the change is very good, and I deeply respect it." Chen Yan said: "In addition to "Loading the Stage", I have also written a novel "Protagonist", in fact, in real life, each of us is a stager, and each of us has also sung the protagonist on the stage or is singing the protagonist. In Chen Yan's view, literature needs to write epics, praise heroes, but also need to have a huge sense of compassion, "from the world to China's literature, drama creation has a characteristic, the early start is written heroic myths, heroic tragedies, but slowly, the perspective of literary creation began to turn to focus on ordinary people." For example, in Western literary works, the small character of Valjean Agen in Hugo's "Les Misérables", in such a tragic life, still shines with human brilliance, and "Notre Dame de Paris", which are the deepest concern for small people; in Chinese literature, "Water Margin", "Ru Lin Wai Biography", "Dream of the Red Chamber", etc., have begun to pay attention to the lives and fates of low-level characters. World literature and Chinese literature are both common, and this kind of writing is needed, which is a huge group."
"Those who can survive for a long time must carry a folk perspective, with thick earth and stove fire," Chen Yan said. What is less known is that in order to write the migrant worker groups in his works, during the Shaanxi period, Chen Yan, in addition to becoming friends with the people in the loading platform, also worked in his own work, shuttling through the mutazhai, East Bali Village, West Bali Village and other migrant worker life gathering places, "I know the migrant worker couple who have supported their three children as college students for more than 20 years by playing cakes, and I have also met distant relatives in the mobile labor market, these ordinary people cannot be missing in urban construction and citizen life, but they are often behind countless partitions. Running in the wind, frost, snow and rain, under the final very beautiful scene, they quietly left."
Chen Yan therefore lamented that there are many things here that are worth thinking about by writers and even more literary and art workers, "Our brushstrokes and visions cannot be bright every day and ignore these things." Real life provides us with a vast range of material, what can make people's hearts tremble? ”

Chen Yan believes that a writer in a region must have a regional endowment, "then you should use this endowment to feed back your artistic creation, while opening your eyes, do not forget to take deep root in your own land." On the thick soil of literature and art in Shaanxi, let us better understand the meaning of this sentence: there are three parts in the Book of Poetry: "Wind", "Ya", and "Ode", and the part of "Wind" comes from the folk; Liu Qing, Lu Yao, Chen Zhongzhong, Jia Pingwa... Their works are all excellent embodiments of in-depth life; the Chang'an School of Painting proposes that 'one hand reaches out to tradition, the other hand reaches out to life' to show the soil under their feet and the significance of creation.
Chen Yan sighed that in this era, many things can be easily searched, copied and pasted on the Internet, "but I think that measuring life with my feet is still the most important way for writers to write, because the root things are always in the folk, in the soil under the feet." As for himself, Chen Yan said that he still hopes to launch more realistic works, "I will continue to write, and still pay attention to the living conditions of small people."
