On the morning of October 27, the Yunnan Provincial People's Congress at the County and Township Levels was held to promote the election work, and the meeting took the form of a combination of video and on-site, with the Main Venue set up in the Honghe Hall and the sub-venue in Luliang County to listen to and watch the meeting.
The purpose of the meeting was to conscientiously study and implement the spirit of the Central People's Congress Work Conference, implement the spirit of the provincial and county and township people's congress election work deployment meeting and joint meeting, listen to the work reports of some units, arrange the next stage of deployment, and ensure the smooth development of the election work of the people's congresses at the county and township levels in the province.
The meeting pointed out that the work of electing people's congresses at the county and township levels involves the foundation of the grass-roots level, has a bearing on political and social stability, and is a major event in China's political life. The meeting demanded that all relevant units should conscientiously implement the arrangements of the party Central Committee and solidly promote the preliminary work; they should take the spirit of the Central People's Congress Work Conference as the guide and rationally promote all aspects of the election work; and they should strictly grasp the election standards and ensure the successful completion of all tasks.
At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Qujing Municipal People's Congress and the standing committees of the People's Congress of Mengzi City, Xundian County, Zhanyi District, Huaning County, Simao District, and Nanjian County made exchange speeches respectively.
Miao Yinghu, secretary of the county party committee; Luo Degang, chairman of the county people's congress standing committee; Liu Yongcang, member of the standing committee of the county party committee and director of the organization department of the county party committee; Pu Shaoting, member of the standing committee of the county party committee, secretary of the county discipline inspection committee, and director of the county supervision commission; Gao Hairong, Zhu Guosheng, and Luo Yuanmei, vice chairmen of the county people's congress standing committee; Bi Lei, deputy county governor and director of the county public security bureau; and Liu Dewen, former director of the county people's congress standing committee, attended the meeting at the Luliang County branch venue.
