On the land of Saigon, the largest city in Vietnam, there is a special sculpture known to everyone, it is a bronze elephant statue 1.5 meters high, weighing about a ton, is placed on a high rectangular base 1, 6 meters next to the Temple of Literature site Saigon Zoological and Botanical Garden.

It was given to Bao Da, the last emperor of Vietnam, 800 years ago by King Rama VII of Thailand

After discussion, the Council of the Saigon Government decided on the statues in the Embankment Area, in front of the Temple of Literature zoo. On October 30, 1935, the Royal Elephant Saigon landed after arriving from Bangkok.
