Using ceramics as the medium, China-South Korea cultural exchanges and cooperation have added another wonderful stroke: on the occasion of the upcoming launch of the "China-Korea Cultural Exchange Year" in 2021 and 2022, in order to promote in-depth cooperation and exchanges between China and South Korea in the field of culture and art, on December 23, the "First Korean Traditional Ceramics Culture Exhibition" organized by the Cheongju Art Federation in Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea, opened in the "International Living Room" of Sino-Korean exchanges and cooperation in Chengyang District, Qingdao City. The exhibition lasts for 3 days and will run until December 25.
This exhibition is the first cultural exchange activity held by the "International Living Room" of Sino-Korean exchange and cooperation, through the combination of online and offline methods, more than 200 kinds of works from many famous potters in South Korea were exhibited, and some works of famous ceramicists in Qingdao were also invited to participate in the exhibition.
China and South Korea are geographically close and culturally connected, and ceramic art is regarded as an important cultural carrier and an important medium for cultural exchanges between the two countries. The Korean traditional pottery works on display this time, rich in variety, exquisite skills, and many varieties are well-known around the world, which is a typical representative of Korean traditional arts and crafts, which not only brings exquisite works of art from their hometown to the 35,000 Korean friends living in Chengyang, but also brings a visual and cultural feast to the majority of Qingdao citizens, especially pottery lovers, which has a positive effect on promoting the cultural exchanges and mutual learning of Chinese and Korean ceramics and building a bridge for Sino-Korean cultural exchanges.
"Ceramics is an international language that does not require translation, and as a style of artifact culture, ceramics can intuitively reflect the pursuit of artists." Xu Yake, president of the Qingdao Ceramics Association and professor of fine arts at Qingdao University, said after visiting the exhibition that in history, ceramic art was transmitted from China to South Korea, but now South Korea is more practical and more grounded than China in terms of adherence and grasp of root traditions. "In terms of the popularization of ceramic art and the excavation of traditional culture, we have not done enough. China and South Korea have great promise in the future development and cooperation of ceramic art. ”
More than 200 kinds of works by Korean potters participating in this exhibition were specially transported from South Korea. As the organizer of the exhibition, Kim Sun-woong, vice president of the General Federation of Arts in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea, said that he will continue to hold special cultural exchange activities such as Korean calligraphy and painting exhibitions and music exhibitions to promote deeper interaction and exchange between China and South Korea cultures by riding the east wind of the "China-Korea Cultural Exchange Year" in 2021 and 2022.
Positioned in the central vitality area of Qingdao's internal and external communication, located in the east of Japan and South Korea, west of the Shanghai Union, Chengyang has the natural gene and traditional advantages of opening up to Japan and South Korea. 2020 coincides with the Year of Innovation and Cooperation between China, Japan and South Korea. On June 23, the "International Living Room" of China-South Korea exchange and cooperation was officially opened, and 63 Korean business associations and enterprises from South Korea, such as the Korea Electronic Information Research Institute and the Busan Economic Promotion Institute, as well as 63 Korean business associations and enterprises such as the Korean Entrepreneurs Association and LG Electronics, have settled in the office, which is a bridge for China and South Korea to deepen economic and trade cooperation, and a window for Qingdao to serve China's expansion of high-level opening up and the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
