Korver and the Nets: The Nets selected him, sent him away for cash, and then bought a photocopier

According to previous reports, after a 17-year NBA career, Kyle Korver will join the Nets as an assistant coach for player development.

NBA reporter Kristian Winfield reported on an interesting incident between Korver and the Nets.

In the 2003 draft, the Nets selected Korver with the 22nd pick in the second round and traded him to the 76ers in exchange for some cash.

Korver previously spoke about the incident in an interview: "I'm not sure the word 'trade' is correct, because I was probably sent away in exchange for money. Later, I found out that they used the money to pay for the summer league team's registration fee and used the rest of the money to buy a photocopier. Is that probably my value? Obviously, my value is just a photocopier, but it doesn't matter because that copier broke down a few years ago. ”
