The industrial categories are relatively complete. Qujing industry covers a total of 32 categories, 87 categories and 151 sub-categories, of which 26 major categories of manufacturing, 78 medium categories and 137 sub-categories can form effective supporting facilities and is conducive to the horizontal and vertical extension of the industrial chain.

The traditional industrial foundation is solid. Qujing's coal, electricity, tobacco, chemical, metallurgical, building materials, agricultural and sideline products processing and other pillar industries in the province have comparative advantages, stainless steel industrial park is the only one in the province, coking, glass production capacity ranked first in the province, steel, cement production capacity ranked third in the province, lead and zinc production capacity accounted for more than 40% of the province.

The stamina of industrial development has steadily increased. In 2020, the industrial added value of Qujing City reached 82.3 billion yuan, accounting for 15.1% of the province, ranking second; the completed industrial investment of 41.5 billion yuan, accounting for 16.4% of the province, ranked first.

The industrial development platform is strongly supported. Each county (city, district) in Qujing has laid out a development zone, and there are 1 state-level economic and technological development zone, 1 provincial-level economic and technological development zone and 6 provincial-level industrial parks, and are applying for the construction of a state-level high-tech development zone, and the industrial agglomeration function has been gradually enhanced, providing strong support for industrial development.

The development of the silicon photovoltaic industry in Qujing Economic Development Zone has shown a good agglomeration trend, and the "magnetic field effect" of leading enterprises has been fully highlighted, which has not only achieved its own growth, but also brought about the rapid development of the silicon photovoltaic industry. At present, among the world's leading photovoltaic enterprises, LONGi Shares, JA Solar and Jinzhou Sunshine have settled in the national Qujing Economic and Technological Development Zone.

It is estimated that by 2025, Qujing will form 200,000 tons of polysilicon material, 100GW of silicon rods, 100GW of chips, 50GW of cells, 40GW of modules, 3 million tons of photovoltaic glass production capacity, to achieve an output value of 180 billion yuan, an added value of 36 billion yuan, to build the country's largest green silicon photovoltaic base, so that the light of new energy sprinkles to the world.

At the same time, the municipal party committee and the municipal government are planning to build a 6.92 square kilometer new energy battery industrial park in the Xicheng area of qujing economic development zone. At present, Ningde Times, German Nano, Envision Energy and other enterprises with core competitiveness have settled in, and are actively negotiating new energy and new material enterprises such as Ningbo Shanshan, Shenzhen Beiterui, Shanghai Pineng, Zhongtian Group, BYD, Guoxuan Hi-Tech and so on. On the basis of the annual output of 53,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate in 2020 (accounting for about 15% of the total national production capacity), it is expected that by the end of the "14th Five-Year Plan" will form an annual output of 500,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate (it is expected to account for 40% of the total national production capacity).

"After the completion of the project, the company will become the world's largest single scale and the leading carbon material production enterprise in the country in terms of technical process." Liu Rui, chairman of Solton Cloud Aluminum Company, said confidently. On the morning of September 1 this year, the second phase of the Solton Cloud Aluminum 900,000 tons anode carbon project began.

The project is a key support project for Qujing to build a 100-billion-level green aluminum deep processing industry, connecting petrochemical and coal chemical industry upstream and electrolytic aluminum downstream. At the same time, the project will drive the development of transportation services and other industries, and form a circular, low-carbon and environmental protection industrial chain with green hydropower and aluminum, petrochemical, coal chemical and related industries.

A number of aluminum product deep processing projects such as Suotongyun Aluminum 900,000 tons of anode carbon phase I and jinfei wheel hub were completed and put into operation, so that Qujing's primary aluminum in-situ deep processing rate reached 78.57%, 23 percentage points higher than the province, forming a whole industrial chain development pattern integrating raw materials, electrolytic aluminum, aluminum alloy, aluminum deep processing, and recycled aluminum, and making Qujing contributions to Yunnan to build "China's aluminum valley".

In the Huashan area of Zhanyi Industrial Park, which is more than ten kilometers away from the Solton Cloud Aluminum Anode Carbon Project, Yunnan Energy Investment annual output of 400,000 tons of silicone monomer and supporting project Phase I has been put into operation in July this year, and the second phase of the project has started construction at the end of this year. The project's monomer production capacity ranked third in the country, achieving a breakthrough of "zero" in the silicon chemical industry in Yunnan Province.
